Rate The Race: Charlotte II

Hate the winner but the best charlotte race in a long time. Been to a lot of races there over the last few years and wish I could go to one as good as that.

6, could have been an 8 if not for NASCAR BS.

Happy they got the whole thing in without any weather delays. Happy the racing was decent

I think 8 from me

8. Lots of passing, 2 grooves, many different leaders, could've been a 9 if the last 10 laps didn't ruin it.

8, pretty good race throughout, a lot of good racing and as for the winner I'm a Hendrick fan but I'm happy for Truex, him and his crew have earned this

8.5
Lots of leaders and changes, a green flag pit cycle, reasonable number of cautions. #78 pit crew did as much to win that race as the driver (or more).

Charlotte usually gives the 1.5's a bad name, stick um helped. I give it a 7. When they get a better formula for oval racing it will get better

Not sure it was the VHT as much as it was limited practice.

I give it a 7.5. Was good racing, challenging strategy and a good group vying for a victory.

9 out of 10.

  • Nice to see Stewart-Haas performing better. Harvick ran extremely well. Kurt Busch should have been in the top five. ;)
  • Kyle Busch was trippin' today. Then there was the scene after the race. I started having flashbacks to Daytona 2015.
  • Harvick, Larson, Johnson, Truex, and even Hamlin were all taking shots at the lead. :punkrocke
  • A lot of pit crew mishaps from the top teams made things very interesting. :bounce:
  • What do you know, 78 found victory lane again - even with those late restarts. Those are not always his specialty. ;)
This is my favorite playoff race so far.

7 like a poster above, found some of the late spins a little curious though I did not run
an analysis of who they were possibly trying to help. Also when my pickems pick goes south,
I factor that in as well ( dangit Ragan ) .

Any race the 4 doesn't win is my favorite race

78.5 trillion....
1) Harvick says they have the speed back....without the help from NASCAR? Really? Who knew? ....but, but, but the wind tunnel? Kez et al. look like bigger idiots now.
2) My TRD powered Toyota Camry won!
3) Again, a car not capable of winning at the beginning wins at the end because they worked on it. Pure NASCAR. Great stuff.
4) A pure win. Nobody could catch Martin. Period. Even when he wasn't at his best.
5) Toyota stretches its lead in the Manufacturers Standings to 11 points. The Rude Awakening is real.

6. As I have said before I don't think the TV broadcast did the race any favors as it was probably much better in person. I did fall asleep once in stage 3 (I think) and then bailed before the race was done as I had football all afternoon and hockey and football in the evening and for me the race was not nearly as entertaining.

8.5 out of 10. Excellent racing is rare at Charlotte, but this one had it. Credit to day racing and PJ1/Track Bite for the multiple grooves and frequent close racing at the front and throughout the field. Treacherous and hard to pass, but passing was possible. I like it that way... not supposed to be easy. My driver was slow, never found the handle, and now in playoff trouble after P15.

I'm becoming more and more impressed with Truex and the 78 team. And McMurray also impressed me with his run. It looked like the contenders were running up front (as they should be). Overall it was a good race.
Truex Jr, the 'real deal' this season. Would have a commanding 111 point lead over 2nd position with 6 races remaining should this season have been be scored the correct way. It's a shame to think that all could be lost with one bad race when he's been so dominate for the entire season. Hopefully this made for television format will do its justice and crown the correct champion.

That is one of the reasons I don't watch the last race of the year as I will by a ticket if I want to participate in the lottery.

Absolutely correct! :booya: My wife and I were talking about that yesterday. Naturally I want Matt to win, but, for Truex not to be the season champion because of some playoff rules issue, would just be wrong.
