Rate The Race: Daytona Coke Zero 400

I dunno yet what to rate,a good race and a decent demolition derby too.

Good racing at moments in there... I'd like to have seen more of that instead some of the wrecking, but that's this style of racing...

9.5. Only thing bringing it down was jr wrecking out. Awesome race.

7. Too much carnage and caution bull****. However, the racing was awesome. Pretty solid RP package right now even though it's not real.

I give batcam a 10. It's nice to see a slightly altered view of a race like that. Couple times it was great to see a replay or two from it.

2 "Green flag back in the air" with NBC =Nothing But Camrys= coverage sucked, race was fair, .. way too much blocking and little passing. the popular guys all wrecked out, 41 took out the 88 , not on purpose though. NBC is horrible, speed talkers all race long and they arent that good at it- geez, I already miss DW ( did i actually say that out loud?) The 17 winning was ok in my books. the RP races are getting dull, they used to be more exciting. Stage cautions take way way way way way way way too long. 55 mph for 6 to 7 laps equals 17.5 miles or 18 minutes of bullsh!t, hell people drive faster down my rural road which isnt paved. Competition cautions, stage cautions, and actual legitimate cautions are adding up to,,,,,,too many period.. 6 ot 7 laps at Bristol? well o.k. (1/2 mile track) at anything over 1.5 miles, should take 2 to 3 laps tops.

8. One of the better ones at a restrictor plate track IMO. That may be because most of the bores crashed out early.

4. Way too many cautions.

I am inclined to give about the same rating but I am going to sleep on it. For me the race had no flow as all the wrecks and stoppages put a damper on it for me. In fact I thought I had let enough time go by before I started watching but I caught up to it live and did something else for about an hour before I started watching again.

8 for the race, they raced hard all night long. The rest of it was hard to listen to. Allen and jabba Burton going over the top gave me a headache, and their camera work for that race was terrible.

I thought the NBC guys seemed calmer than last year but they did get repetitive at certain points but overall it was much better than I had anticipated. The bat cam didn't bother me or enhance anything for me but whatever angle the were using from AJ's car was awful, IMO, as it was shaky and they stayed with it for way longer than they should have. Once again JMO and I respect that others may see things differently.

8.5 Just never know who's gonna win these things and I like that.

8. I never was a fan of Talledega or Daytona but am becoming one now. The downside os the wrecks, which are seemingly inevitable, taking out some good teams but on the plus side it does give smaller, less funded teams a shot at glory. Good job by Stenhouse and so many of the other "also rans" who stayed out or avoided trouble to get a good finish.
