Rate The Race: Daytona Coke Zero 400

Great race and a solid 9 for me...maybe a 10 if Danica could have been in the mix. It could have been a little more exciting if Jr had not got taken out the second time. One thing for sure...most of the drivers are not holding back and just driving around until the final laps anymore.

These stage cautions take all the green flag pit stops out of the equation on restrictor plate tracks. One good thing is all the jibbs cars crashed. But ahhh so did all the Childress cars, Haas cars, Hendrick cars, Penske cars, man what a wreck-fest.

Exactly!!

I wasn't aware Dale Jr drives a Camry, because he was the primary focus of NBC's broadcast tonight.
Just wait till next week, nbc and toyoder seem to be in each others back pockets, or at least the last few years it seemed so.

7.5. Hard racing, a good plate race, but too many crashes to be a great plate race. NBC was not as good as Fox, but better than I expected them to be.

If a Toyota takes the lead next week, maybe NBC should blur it out like when there's nudity in a movie you're watching on TBS.

Or maybe they could cut to the "smudge cam."

I think that is a fair assessment and other than some minor complaints I thought the NBC booth did OK. Whatever they were given to calm them down prior to calling the race worked.

It was a good race. With the cars pretty much equal they find ways to pass. I held my breath a number of times. Pack racing is a different style of racing, it reminds me of 40 jets flying in close formation - maybe flying bricks is a better analogy.
