Rate the Race: Martinsville II

8.5 for me. A bonus 0.5 for the excitement of Gordon and his fans. It's fun when a bunch of people are excited over something around here. Usually, you have two people happy their driver won and 60 people bitching about how boring the race was or their driver getting screwed.

race: 9/10 beatin and bangin at it's best right there!
winner: 10/10 jeffy was overdo for a win this year and i'v been cheering for him since smoke got injured

10:D Jeff winning and Chevrolet's 11th straight manufacturer's Championship. Perfect race at the perfect track for me:cool:

I'm going with 8.5 for a couple of reasons..

1.The caution stretch was just unberable.

Funny I know since Gordon was leading during that stretch but still it was getting to the point where aggravation was beginning to set in.

2.The outside lane was unraceable. Really bad on restarts for everyone.

This race could have been even more fun to watch had it not being for said things occuring.

8.5 from me as well. I think some of those guys forgot how to drive in the middle of the race.. Glad to see good hard racing at the end. I hate when guys just plow in and take each other out, so enjoy the good racing for the lead, and the race for 2nd at the end between kenseth and bowyer was fun as well.

8 good racing, fun restarts. -2 because of complete lack of outside lane, but that's what caused some of the restart action so it wasn't all too bad. Another good race at a great track.

Oh and the burnout gets a 10. I don't really like burnouts that well, but seeing drifting around Martinsville was sweet.

9. Great race, the cautions were hard to deal with at certain points but very complete race. Also, I called that last long green run the the finish.

ah hell, 9.5

single lane wreck fest with outside lane no pass zone. On restarts, not one car passed the inside leader. If you like fights, frustration, and wrecked race cars, this tiny track has them in spades. 7

Very good race. Gordon, Kensith, and Johnson were competitive all day (three classy drivers) - the top drivers stayed in the run for the cup. I hadn't been aware before about pit stop strategy attempting to gauge where they would restart; the inside line was a huge advantage. As Gordon pointed out, Martiansville is the only track that hasn't been changed during his career - I did not know that.

9, and not because Gordon won.

It's Martinsville. Never a bad race there.

When has the outside lane at Martinsville ever been THE lane to be in?

8. Good ole short track racing! too bad it was a one laner. If the top lane would have come in it would have been a 10

8.

Great race. Rubbin's racin'!
The cream definitely rose to the top in this one. Congrats to the #24 team. They earned it.

Thought Biffle's anger towards JJ was somewhat misdirected and weird. Then again, I wasn't turning the wheel in that #16 car.
But, whatever.

Oh, and a definite 10 on the burnout! You can tell Jeff was enjoying that win

I say 9. There were some parts a bit too single-file, but overall it was better than just about anything else this year. That was an awesome burnout at the end.

9 for sure. I think this ties Auto Club in the spring for best race of the year. Wait wait, ties for second best. The trucks at Eldora take #1 :)

Bumping, banging, torn up race cars, lost tempers, different strategies, slow outside lane,1/5th run under caution, threat of darkness, lapped cars holding up the leader, drama. With the exception of the "big one", the race had something for everyone.

I'd say that Kahne and Kenseth are now square.

I'd say that Kahne and Kenseth are now square.

Square on what?

Kenseth got beat straight up. For someone that supposely doesn't make "excuses" Kenseth sure comes up with outrageous ones.

Kahne purposefully slowed Kenseth down for Gordon. That's pathetic.

Gordon just cant win one right without being acused of being "helped." BS.

Eat it Matt.
