RATE THE RACE: Phoenix II

Well stated! I plan my chores around the race. If I am at the short track I take my Sirius receiver and a low power transmitter so I can listen to the NASCAR race on the headphones.

The last "BAD" race I can remember was the 2001 Daytona race.

That said, I am getting pretty tired of the Johnson/Knauss inquisition.

People don't just suddenly abandon the sport they have followed for 20 years because of 2 bad seasons. Some folks leave, others stay and hope things will get better.

Horse racing and Boxing didn't die all at once. They just slowly fade away...

Horse racing and Boxing are dead? And, I went to my first NASCAR race more than twenty years ago.

Yes, they are both just shells for their former selves.

Horse racing because the powers that ran the show refused to embrace TV.
Boxing has been destroyed by corruption and greedy promoters.

The new rules should be the #48 has to start a lap down at every race.

Bawahahaha... Now that's a race I can sink my teeth into! LOL I was hopeful all season long that there was going to be someone else who could break this streak of Johnson. Up until this past weekend, I was hopeful. Up until the 24 blew it at Texas, I still had my hopes Jeff could pull it off. Then it came down to Mark. Earlier in the year, I had hopes for Tony as well. Maybe Jimmie could get "lost" on the way to the track this year.. LOL

I watch because I keep waiting for it to get better. Something/anything can happen before it's over, but it didn't this past weekend. At the end, is when I decide if it's been a boring race, and it was.

Personally, even if I say it's boring, there's nothing else I want to watch. I don't care much about football or anything else. Hockey comes the closest, but I'm not THAT interested in it that I'll watch before the play-offs. There's nothing else I like better than racing, but anyone who likes/loves racing, can tell whether one race is more exciting than another.

I also totally agree there is nothing like being at the track, even if they don't race at all!

I give this race a 4.0 at most.

being as jimmy, jeff, mark and dale are all hms drivers i think they should have a nice round of golf together to keep loose. have a few beers, maybe have a golf cart race. few more beers, few more golf cart races, never know what could happen. <g>
