RATE the RACE: Pocono II

The race, considering it was at Pocono...7. (Though I do think the rain made the drivers race much harder, which made the race more exciting.)

Jeff Gordon winning the race...breaks the scale!

Today's winner: 10! WTG Jeff!
Today's race: 7 - Actually a pretty good race, especially for Pocono. Seemed like there was a good amount of passing.
Yesterday's race at Iowa: 9 - Awesome race! Now I want this track in the Cup series.

I don't normally rate races but I really enjoyed the race today.

..as far as "at the track fans"..this race likely stunk. They had to wait - watched 2/3rds of a race - then got soaked going to their cars.

But for a TV race at Pocono it was pretty good...actually excellent for Pocono IMO. Decent racing early - the "Oh No" moment when it looked like JJ would dominate - two Busches into the wall - bummer about Jr's tranny - Jeff wins and keeps the hope for the chase alive and Tony gets a top 5. What else can you ask for from the big P.

On the Pocono scale I give it a 9.

That's the weather this time of year. There's a threat of rain every single day. Personally, I think they should host NASCAR races in the streets of St. Charles because it might actually rain that way.

The wife made me put a 12 because JG won even though we didnt see it, we were on the road and the dvr didnt record it due to a power failure. :D

I will give it a 10. Best race I've watched in a while and with the winner I would say that broke the scale. LOL

Any race the shrubs crash out of is a great race! Hard to accept that a guy that never led a green flag lap is declared the winner. Rulez is rulez I guess.

If not for the 24 having such a rotten year there'd be lots of complaining. Or if it was his 3rd or 4th win we might even get treated to a few conspiracy theorists points of view.

It was pretty good race. I think Johnson drove into the corner a little harder than he normally would to defend against Kensith. I think Kensith was in a good position to give Johnson a run. I would have liked to have seen that. I call the wreck a racing deal.

Racing deal alright. Just wait until the next time a Roush driver goes under a HMS driver a bit too hard and watch this place light up like Hiroshima.

Heh ...Jimmy Wes Johnson...I kinda like it .

I don't think so. I am pretty sure there are plenty here who detest HMS more than Roush. Unless of course you mean Moe Joe spamming the board with his JJ love.

LOL @ JJ love.

If you have some spare time, go back to the July Daytona race thread and you'll see what I mean.

There are higher ratings for this race I think because the rain took the "dead time" out of the equation.

True. It was approaching boring time, and it ended with an action packed restart. I guess shorter races are better. ;)

I'm a Kenseth fan and Johnson has earned my respect. I've seen most every driver run out talent/traction and use 8 tires when they are available/in the way.

He blew a right rear. Just saying

dude JJ needs just to man up. I am not going to deny JJ is a very talented driver, it just seems that when he actually does mess up he messes up royally. It is like 97% of the time JJ is one of the most talented drivers out there, but that other 3% it is utterly awful!
