Rate the race Pocono

1 to 10

10 = best
1 = lowest

Race: 8.5, lots of side-by-side racing, an unpredictable outcome and lots of storylines without a massive crashfest. My kind of race. :)

Coverage: 4, much better than FOX but nowhere near the bar NBC has set with their IndyCar coverage.

Winner: 8, it wasn't Jimmie or Hamlin :) I wish Mark had won though.

I will give it an 8. Would have been a 9 if Nascar had not run excessive caution laps during the last two yellows. It took some of the excitement out of the race.

I like the 400 miler better than the 5oo and the new pavement made it much better racing. It now has potential to being one of the better tracks.

I agree, I thought the last caution was for debri, should of been at the most 2 laps, but it seemed like at least 4 or 5 before they went green. I'll give it a 7.

Have to admit - had no clue before Friday that this track was re-paved and that it was shortened to 400 miles. So definitely was looking forward to this one.

It didn't let me down. I'll give it an 8.
Enjoyed Kyle and Wally in the broadcast booth. Felt like I was watching the race at a bar with a couple of buddies.

Lol @ all the tweets shown after midrace from the Dale Jr fans wishing on a win.
Maybe next week.
It's gonna happen, right?

How did they arrive at 100,000? The Jeff Gluck tweet that I posted was followed by a picture taken 50 laps into there race showing a very sparsely populated grandstand.

Well Danica2470, that pic that you just posted looks like it was from before the race. The War wagon on the right in the pic is still covered.

Good race I enjoyed it!

Was there ever any kind of explanation for the long drawn out yellow there at the end???

I gave it an 8. Good race for a Pocono race. Shortening it to 400 miles was great.

I'll give this race a 7. Not too thrilled with the early pit-road issues, but it was still a pretty good race. Not as bad as I expected based on what I read before the race.

Start and park teams leave them covered. How does a knowledgeable NASCAR genius like yourself know that?:D

I think that you meant not know. Anyhow, the other thing that looks strange is that there are very few people up on the spotters stand too. I still think that this was a pre race pic regardless of what Gluck says. The overhead views of the track during the race sure made it look more full that the shot that Gluck took. Either way, the figures are what they reported and I know that you are a man, err, woman of your word so..... Danica it is. :p

That's the official number as well.

From this day forward, you will only be know to me as Danica2470. Congratulations and welcome to the boards. ;)

Oh I see, why you altered my username. You somehow missed that I posted a Jeff Gluck tweet. You are really starting to slip, old man!
Was I wrong to think you were one of the smarter ones that post here?

If you want to play the username switch game, we can do that. :)

That's not the spotter stand.

And all of those people aren't on top of the box before a race. How could you NOT know that?:D

This issue may have to be put to a vote. ;)

Spotter stand is on the left on that tower.

I see now. They must have moved it above turn 4 during the reconfiguration.

Seriously though, when I used to go to the track it was located directly above our seats at the right side in your picture. I think I have some pictures of it in my NASCAR archive somewhere. Some things change, it's just me that stays the same.

I'll let you slide on the Danica thing. It's just a little hard to tell where Gluck's tweet ended and your comments began but apparently his tweet was presented without comment. Quotes do wonders for those types of situations. ;) :D

Oh hell know. As much as a jackass as I've been here lately? I'd have to delete my account and block myself from ever logging on again.

And my jackass phase will be waning here shortly. I've had a rough couple of weeks. But heading to MIS this weekend will make me feel a lot better.:)

How is the job front ?

How is the job front ?

Job front is non existent. I am getting paid throughout the summer. Works out well due to no child care expenses.

The main thing that is giving me stress is my classes. I am taking Web scripting, Database Design, and Information System Management. All online. I feel as though I've been dropped into a foreign country where no one speaks English and handed a set of instructions (that I can't really read) telling me to go to an unknown destination. Turns out that most of the others in my classes are feeling the same way but there are a few that are taking these classes for fun. The next 9 weeks are going to truly test me like I've never before been tested.

Good luck the educations and career.

I could find a job but I don't want one right now. I want to spend the summer with Aiden while concentrating on school. I am getting an income, it's reduced somewhat but I am OK with that. I will still be able to go to both MIS races, the Brickyard and Chicagoland. It could be worse, right? But still I am in a piss poor mood most days.

that long caution was completely uncalled for IMO. At a track as long as Pocono they should not even permit the drivers to pit. They should simply pick up the piece of debri on the first caution lap and go racing the next lap.
