Rate the Race: Richmond II

5... But by Richmond standards.. 2.

I like Richmond but this race was possibly my least enjoyed of the year - so far. The only contact all night was #20 and the wall.

I rate it a 2 too, not because of who won but because there was no excitement people. I say NO CAUTIONS, NO WRECKS, NO BUMPIN. I would have fallen asleep but I was at my mother's house. Worse race of the year!!!!!!!!!!

Kurt got a great finish though so I am happy. :)

Hillbilly that caused the caution:

When all but one car who started the race is on track and running, albeit some many laps down, at the end of a nascar short track race something went terribly wrong.
Severe weather was forecast here last night and I was begging for a power outage to end the misery...

Give it a ... 0. What a disappointment. Always considered Richmond one of the most anticipated races of the year. If this is any indication of what racing at Richmond holds for the future, :bleh: !!!

I give it a 5. Although I was hoping that Bowyer would get another itch just to make it a little more interesting.

Bowyer was just about the ONLY thing that made it interesting except Kurt kept falling back, then coming forward, then falling back and coming forward...all night long. That man gives me a heart attack.

The fan council will not like me this week. That was a sorry exhibition. They had cars, and a good track. They could have had a race.

The problem IMO was that for the most part, they were either running way up high or all the way on the bottom. You're not gonna see much beating and banging when the cars are that spread out in the turns. Whoever compared it to a 1.5 mile race in the race thread was spot on.

Quite possibly the worst race I've ever watched. No bumping, no racing, nobody really seemed to give a **** about the race last night. NASCAR needs to step in do something about it.

0 for me

Oh, and not to harp on the Chase, but the fact that I am unconcerned with it this year didn't help matters any either. Normally I'm pumped for the second Richmond race for that reason alone, but I wasn't this year. And as much as I wanted to see some controversy, I knew the drivers would be on their best behavior.

It's simple math for me, really. 1 stinker of a race + 0 Chase buzz + 0 controversy = 1 bad situation.

4. Worst race of the year for sure, at least by my standards.

The highlight was the dude with the best seat in the house on top of the fence.

I'll continue to say it. Any track that is aero dependent is going to suck as a short track. It's not the track's fault, we had a million good races at Richmond in the past. It's our aero package. Need to raise the front end and get rid of the spoilers.

1.5, only because the guy climbed the fence. That was awesome. Has it gone viral yet?

Even ESPN was saying that it wasn't a good race.

I honestly don't believe that it was a 10 for you. I remember I went to Charlotte several years ago and nearly fell asleep several times. But then again, I don't drink...so if may be different if you are a drinker.
i'm not a drinker, and it was 10 because i have been a Brad fan since he was in the 88 Navy Chevy, and i saw him win in nationwide twice, but that was before he was really any good in cup, and it's been 7 years since one of my 3 guys won a cup race i went to (Truex Jr, Dover 2007), so seeing Brad winning a race i went to was awesome, and it was even more awesome since it was a domination, and there was racing going on around the track, just not at the front

You have a point. Races for position were happening all night. But modern NASCAR is all about wins. So are they screwing themselves?

Green flag racing isn't always exciting but it shows which teams were best prepared for the race or adjusted the best with the limited chances. And there is no complaining about bogus cautions.

A big fat 10! Hell guys 43 cars at 850 to 900 HP , side by side, close passing, sheit, that is good stuff anywhere they go.

Just happens ole Brad was packing a can of whoopass, that's all.

I enjoyed it in 32 minutes this Morning at 5:30 AM with my coffee.

They need to have more than one winner per race . That would really liven things up.

Best part of the race by far, did Matty blow a tire or run out of talent ??

Reminds me of a chase race at Phoenix, 2 guys racing and the rest just driving around
