Rate The Race: Richmond II

Still 0, a caution every 25 laps, and you guys still do not think the race is fixed beforehand. Wake up to reality folks.

Seriously, why do you watch NASCAR if you think it's fixed?

Don't blow off the question with some bulls#!t like you've done before. EXACTLY why do you waste your time on something you apparently don't enjoy?

The last 100 laps were pretty entertaining, but the plethora of cautions throughout the race ruined a lot of the excitement for me. With that said, this is still the best track to end the regular season due to it being a short track and having multiple grooves.

I agree.

We notice, but our DeFrancifier tool is in the same box with your craw remover. Other than spawning discussions, there isn't much value in fretting over that which we cannot change. It's only sports.

It isn't something that will keep me up at night but more a lament about the anti competition measures so prevalent in Nascar today and things like this make it difficult for me to even watch the races as stand alone events. Fortunately the charitable largess doesn't happen to the extent it did last night very often.

I found the race lacking for several reasons but I don't think the race was fixed at all and I don't believe Nascar even thought about throwing a bogus yellow last night as it wasn't necessary. How do you think Nascar manipulated the race?

Why would they fix the race so Denny Hamlin would win? If they wanted to fix the race a new winner would've won.

0 -You can fix parts of the race but not the winner. You can still have a driver spin the car on purpose like Clint bowyer did.

9.5,

Fantastic National Anthem!
The 4 wide salute to the fans was great.
There was something for everyone in this race. Plus as mentioned earlier, they did show a good amount of in the field racing. The tire issues were pretty troublesome. Maybe too much camber or melted beads from hot brakes?
I am not a JJ fan, but, wow, they are having a lot of issues.
Kyle Larson was fun to watch.
My man Matt was doing well, until Kez ran out of talent, again.
Bad - Tony took out a lot of guys.

8.5 for the race + 1.0 to counteract the troll = 9.5 my final rating.

Tons of hard racing with lots of side-by-side battles throughout the field. And all the teams running out of sticker tires was an added spice. I wouldn't want that every week, just like I wouldn't want a fuel mileage race every week. But every now and then, such a race adds excitement and drama.

I personally thought the race was boring for the first 400 laps but because I really don't like that... Uhh.... "Guy" up there ill give it a 9.

I think Nascar tries to fix the race, that's why all the extra cautions. However I don't think they make calls to be able to chose the winner. At times the final caution always screws the race leading car and sometimes I wonder if that is intentional.

The race leader is in a difficult position when there's a late caution. If he doesn't pit, everyone behind him will and take on new tires. If he pits, especially if he's been dominating the race, most drivers will stay out. They hope they can make up positions on the restart by racing against cars with tires as old as theirs, while hoping all the cars in front of the former leader will make it difficult for him to get back to the front. Nothing intentional there, just basic tactics.

As to Richmond, I didn't see anything I would describe as an extra caution. Call me naive, but they all looked justified to me. I recall only one debris caution, and it came quickly after another so it wasn't just to bunch up the field.

6.5 kind of a boring race for me but I was watching from a new location and couldn't really hear the broadcast so it was tough to understand what was going on.

There was a lot competing for my attention Saturday night, yet the program I watched the most was this race. When I first started following the sport this year I never thought I'd be putting it above college football, yet here I am. No word yet on if the chase will give my Vikings a run for their money come Sundays.

I give the race a 8.5. A mediocre finish kept it from a 9 but the race throughout was generally the kind I'd like to see. As I've said before I love race tracks that shred tires and make that the limiting factor on long runs. I also generally don't mind cautions coming out to break up or end long runs. However I will say it got a little too much even for me towards the end with all the spins. But who would have thought to see a red flag at Richmond?? Wow this race had nearly everything.

The only thing that ruined the race for me was a Hamlin win. Not a fan.

I didn't mind him winning as he had a good car and didn't make any mistakes like so many other teams and drivers did plus it was like a home town win for him and had to make a bunch of locals happy.

Oh come on, you're an Eagles fan aren't you? The worse we do the higher up that 1st round pick you got is. All you need to do on Sundays is sit back and watch Wentz tear it up knowing your future is bright. Proving once again that the quickest way to a football dynasty is to screw over the Minnesota Vikings. Me? Hell I may very well need the chase to keep the depression at bay this year and next. Lets go 2 crew!

Also, did I mention the drama from this race? My TV took an empty beer can to the screen when Kenseth went on his little passive aggressive rant about Brad. I love that about this sport and that's why we need more short tracks to bring this out. It makes the stars of the sport far more relatable to the average joe because everybody gets road rage at some point. Honestly I just wish my driver weren't such a little wimp about it all.

Stick and ball alert.

Those first round picks haven't done the Brownies much good.
