Rate The Race - Talladega

I am going to rate this race as a throwaway. If rated it would ruin my better than 9 average for the rest of the season. if kept in the schedule this track should be shortened and altered so happenstance doesn't name the winner. For sure, as it is, the track has outgrown it's usefulness as a NASCAR venue.

I'll give it a 4, I thought for sure Biffle was gonna give him a run there at the end but I guess they all just ran outta steam...

Never been a fan of plate racing. I most certainly could live without it. I can handle the Daytona 500 but that's it.

LOL so wrong.
Drivers played follow the leader on a 2 wide Sunday stroll for 3/4 of the race. They're not even allowed to push! Dafuq is that crap? Unless you call a majority of the best cars being wiped out by a mind boggling move and finish under caution a race to watch, enjoy it all you want bud. The cars just don't move around as much and they can't pass each other like they used to. Ever since the introduction of the splitter on the COT & continuing on to the gen 6, plate racing isn't worth watching till 10 to go.

Typical plate race. Meaningless logging of laps until the real racing starts with 25 to go.

Still pretty entertaining.

6.5

You nailed it.
Sucks how it ended, but NASCAR really had no other option, imo.
And my two cents say the incident with Danica and Brad was just one of them "racin' deals".

I most def seen better races at this track , though.

Watched all the important clips on YouTube when I got home, I'd have to give it a 4. Until Nascar comes up wih a package that allow these cars to race and get away from each other, we will continue to have the 25 lap dash race at the end. IMO huge pile ups, tearing up lots of equipment is getting old. Hate to say this, but one of these days 1 or more of the drivers is going to get seriously hurt on one of the plate tracks again with these huge wrecks.

It happened in the Nationwide Series two years ago with Eric McClure (Talladega) and last year with Michael Annett (Daytona). Apparently that has some sort of appeal, though.

But Jeffery00 will be cheering his ass off!

I hate it, have since they put the plates on, wrecking is not racing, and you know there is going to be one or more huge wrecks that take out a lot of contenders at plate tracks.

3. The race is too long, too many meaningless laps. BK taking out half the contenders and the way it finished didn't help. I know it's wacky but Dega should be a 300 mile track if NASCAR wants to keep it. Maybe it being a quicker race would help it, like New Hampshire.

God forbid but I think it's gonna be something more of a freak accident at any race track that may hurt someone.
Think Mark Martin at Michigan on pit road a few years ago.
I see Kyle Larson walk away from his wreck at Daytona, and Chad Boat get out of his car yesterday after that head on hit on the backstretch, and I'm thinking these cars have come a long way in terms of safety improvements.
I don't disagree with you. I just think the next bad accident we see is something no one would imagine in their wildest dreams.

But, damn, I don't want to see it in my lifetime.
Or anyone's lifetime, for that matter.

Give it a 6, but begrudgingly. No need to rehash much of what has already been stated. It isn't racing as such but more a situation of who has the best luck to finish. Denny deserved the win but skill was only a small part of the equation as Lady Luck was the common denominator for those who managed to survive.

2,3 & 4 wide racing all day long is a good day @ Talladega IMO. Didn't get the finish I would have liked to have seen but I can't rate it on that alone. Overall, it kept me interested from start to finish.

I agree 100%. I sure hope i didn't offend to many on here because i watched it twice.:)

I thought it was a good race except for the ending. I give it a 9.

I heard the roar of the crowd, I thought Jr took the lead - Danica did. Even back markers have fans and that's good for the sport. Some of the 3x3 racing reminded me of the starting lineup at Indy. Overall it was an average race for Talladega.
