Rate The Race: Texas II

5. More short tracks, Wilkesboro and Rockingham are waiting for rescue. Enough with the 1.5 mi aero fest.
 
5 - LARGELY disappointed. No payback, Larson crapped out, it was a snoozer. Oh well ,set my expectations too high once again.
 
0.1 point deduction for not showing the Fort Worth skyline.

Would've been lower had Harvick not made his run to the lead
 
7 had some moments and they raced in two grooves for a little bit
 
5. Another forgettable Texas race. Not sure why it deserves to be in the "playoffs" or a second date for that matter
 
7 race was probably better than the coverage.

Too bad there wasn't anyone in the stands to see it.

Good to see harvick pull off the win.

The repave has made an already boring racetrack ever worse. No second groove. Just single file parade around the bottom lane.
 
As this race was really another example of the symptoms that plague this cookie cutter layout and the current state of aero influence at high speeds, I award a 4. No doubt challenging for the drivers but a yawner for fans.
 
5/7 obviously.

Single groove, aero push - no bueno.

The upside is that I was a Harvick fan for the last 25 laps and he got it done.

During FNiA they showed Kevin Harvick doing a burnout in front of empty seats.
 
This track deserves maybe one race. This date would be much better used pretty much anywhere else. The racing sucks generally and the fans know it, so they stay home.

Yep. Live in DFW and have attended many races at TMS. Was in the stands this afternoon. It was hotter than Satan’s butthole, and the racing was dull. Not a good combination. The repave has made it even worse. Another single groove aero track compiled by the awfulness of the Gen 6 package. But muh playoffs tho.

Thanks for the post as I didn't expect attendance to be so sparse. They were standing room only for the Cowboys game today.
 
The grandstands told you everything you needed to know.

People complained about Texas before but it's just pathetic now.

I have no problem with traditional single-groove racetracks...but when you can't stay behind the car in front of you it's a problem.
 
Eh, 7.5, Harvick passing Truex for the lead was the best part. Boring racing, there were some moments, but overall your usual Texas race that we've come to expect.
