haha thanks we have been looking forward to it and the other three races well be going to this year

Are you camping? Cause if you are I'd expect a lot more gear!

naw thats just our track bag heads sets, scanners , ponchos, hoodies and so on. we only live a few hours away ill be driving down that morning .but at charlotte we will be camping

Very nice, I was at Bristol for the night race last year, and it was incredible. I'm biased, as Bristol is my favorite track of them all. Have a good time.

That picture kills me. I've been packing the RV for Bristol for a week and I'm still not done! I'll be there tomorrow set up and ready to go though. We leave later this afternoon and are driving half way. The rest in the morning. Our campground doesn't open until 8:00am Wednesday.

Lol I'd say by the look of that picture it took a good 5minutes to pack. Any chance we a get a picture of your set up once you're down there?

Have a great time .Been there once , best track ever to watch a race.

Oh yeah. I can post after we get things set up. Right after we get there tomorrow we have a bunch of stuff to pick up for family and friends so it'll probably be into the evening before we get everything unpacked.

Our issue with packing for this race is always the same. We empty everything out of our RV before winterizing and parking for the season. Bristol is always our first trip of the year and we have to reload everything as well as checking out the furnace and waterlines. All of the subsequent trips to the tracks and vacation should be a breeze compared to this. This year, while we have no snow at the moment, they are calling for snow tonight for where we are staying later this evening. Hopefully it is just a little and none lays on the road. I'm not a big fan of towing through the snow.

Guaranteed!

I like Bristol a lot for both the track and the camping. We see many of the same people each trip there and a great time is had by all.

Bristol is a fun event but not as much of a race. When Bruton added his progressive banking to the track and they actually could race side by side, fans were disappointed and quit coming. Now, they've changed it back somewhat. Will people come? I kinda doubt it but that works out great for those of us still going. More leg room and shorter concession stand/restroom lines. Traffic is not as bad either.

Have a good time everyone. I have a feeling this race will be the one that gets fans back to Bristol for the next race. If drivers aren't banging and bumping with all that extra downforce, they should be removed from their cars and the ride given to a less gentlemanly driver.

Personally, I think that Bristol has already seen its day. NASCAR has already seen its day as well. It's an expensive trip to the race these days and I am not taking about the ticket.

could be. As long as it doesn't disappear from the airwaves, I'm not concerned. In some ways, the racing is better when there isn't so much at stake.

yea it didnt take me long to get there at all ill prob leave about 9 sunday morn and get down there about 1130. i didnt take everything out of my bag just the headsets and scanners. then when charlotte rolls around im only about 4 hours from there i think im looking forward to it most of all for going on the hendrick shop tour

We are not too far from Bristol either...about 1 1/2 hours...haven't been in several years, thinking about going to the night race this year.

Other than Birstol we are about a 3 hour drive to both Martisnville and Charlotte...oddly enough have never been to a race at Charlotte though...:(

yea i never have trouble i pay and park in someones driveway about a mile from the track and walk i park at the same place every year for both races. iv only been to charlotte one time and kane got turned and hit the wall right infront of my wife and i we loved it we have season tickets to bristol day and night and we are doing the whole race week at charlotte in may and taking a tour of hindricks shop for vacay in may then going back to the nightrace in the fall should be a fun year. i know alot of ppl say there wifes hate racing but my wife set the whole charlotte thing up for a surprise.

I like hunting and go all I can, the wife doesnt care for it, I like fishing and if its in the boat the wife will go to get some sun but she doesnt fish, she has her likes that I dont care for either but the good part is we are both nuts about racing and go to several a year pulling the camper for a week or more each. It works out great.

I would call my wife a "casual" race fan, she is not the die hard, watch every lap peson that I am, but always wants to kwno what is going on....she loves to go to the races though!

All packed and ready to go. Waiting on the kids to get back from school so we can hit the road. Picking the wife up @ work on our way. I am lucky to have an entire family of race fans. My wife and I have been going to the races together for over 20 years and me much longer than that. My kids were kind of born into it but they enjoy everything about it as well.

Be safe and its useless to tell you to have a good time because that's a given, but have fun anyway. :D

Can you post the Yahoo post-race rankings before you leave today,or are you going to make us wait till after the race is over?

We'll have a good time. That's a sure thing.

Got here yesterday afternoon. It snowed a good portion of our ride down. The roads never really got that bad but the visibility sucked. The temps here in Bristol are way below normal. Cold and windy. Nobody is spending any time outside. I think I'm going to go through a lot of propane this week. Weather outlook is looking not so good for this area according to the locals. :(

23 degrees here this morning. The 4G towers have been powered up which make for some smooth web browsing tethered to my Android phone. No, contrary to popular belief, the towers aren't just there for the Sprint phones.

Having trouble getting everything set up outside the RV. Too windy and cold. The only good thing is with my hands getting so cold standing outside, it doesn't bother me so much reaching to the bottom of my ice/beer filled cooler for the next BL. My hands are already numb.

Watching the local weather down here and not liking what I am seeing. Sunday/Monday are not looking too good. That can change in a hurry though so probably no reason to worry about it yet. Sounds like it will be far below normal temps the next few nights. Hopefully these tenters down here are smart enough to keep the carbon monoxide emitting heating devices outside.

Well, you're using a beer cooler in 23 degree weather, so you never know. ;)

These are the times when a camper really pays off, right DP? If it stays this cold, we may get the final answer on Danica's gender.;)

Look at it this way, what you are spending on propane you are saving on ice. ;)

????? at those temps anybody can cut holes in their firesuit with their nipples.

If there is one track I would fly over from the UK to go and watch a race at, it would definitely be Bristol.
