Red Bull leaving NASCAR

This trend will continue, Nascar is sliding down the slope, and Sponsors don't want to invest in it.

Sponsors don't have the money to invest in it.

Combination of the two.

I think there are companies out there that have the money to invest but just arent, they no longer see the value in the sport.

Nascar got to big for its britches and ran a lot of its fans off. That'll cost them in the long run.

big hit to nascar when an entire organization pulls out. nascar is over-valued as a sport. not enough bang for the sponsorship dollars required to sponsor a team.

Looks like 5 hour Energy Drink, & Rockstar,& AMP, & Boris Saids Energy Drink is selling some...

Frye is trying to round up investors so he can buy the teams. Since Red Bull is a European company, and the fact that their F1 teams are doing much better than the NASCAR teams, maybe they just want to see better results.

That just sucks. Being a fan of their F1 program, I've been pulling for them since they joined NASCAR and they have been getting better every season. I blame NASCAR, it's just gotten too damn expensive for companies to want to throw that kind of money at a sport that has been on the decline the last few years. That with the fact they haven't been able to land a top tier driver since they showed up. Vickers is good but not championship material and Kahne is just for one year. If they could have grabbed just one big name drivers they probably wouldn't be in this position.

"No reason for Red Bull's leaving has been given, but the energy drink markets to the 18-to-34 age group -- the demographic NASCAR has consistently lost in its current ratings slide."

If I heard this news about 10 years ago when NASCAR was in it's heyday, I'd be tempted to say something like, "don't let the door hit you in the rear on your way out", knowing there would be 5 other companies lined up to take their place.

But in these times, I'll just say, thanks for supporting NASCAR and hope the exposure was good for you.

When Nascar makes TV show different teams more... It will help.. A few seconds... atleast..

Hmm....average finish 20.6, compared to Denny's 13.8 average...

Come on silly...That makes too much sense

You have to do it by points like he does the 18 to the 29
9 Denny Hamlin
24 Brian Vickers

To be fair, Vickers has been wrecked by other drivers an obscene # of times this year. Not getting into the argument, but that 24th position in points is very decieving.

While Vickers has shown flashes of talent, Hamlin is the real deal, I doubt Vickers finds anything but a Start and Park team for next year, or maybe he goes to Nationwide.

They needed to bring some of their F1 drivers here to race NA$CAR. Prove that their F1 drivers are the best in the world.

Was watching the race Sunday and thought NA$CAR is the only racing series that hasn't evolved with new technology, compared to IndyCar, F1, Rolex, drag racing, any other racing series. Other than safety stuff they are still in the 60s. Example: gas cans, 500 mile races, 4 speed transmissions, no down force, no forced induction, no fuel injection, no computers at all. I think NA$CAR refusing to evolve is a major reason for it's decline, hell the COT doesn't look like any car anywhere on the streets anywhere in the world. Back in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and most of the 90s when car companies launched new styles, new engines NA$CAR went with the new styling, engines too. NA$CAR needs to do 2 things if they are running a COT make it have all the latest technology and a race specific race car and 2 change their name. Take stock car out of their name. Just think of all the major corporations that over the last 20 years have changed their names without any problems staying in business. The cup cars - not stock, NationWide - not stock, CampingWorld - not stock, time for NA$CAR to take stock out of their name.

How about the National Association of Production Car Automobile Racing? That would give us .... oops, nevermind.

They can keep it NASCAR.Just call it National Association of Same Car Automobile Racing.

What sucks about the deal is that if someone does buy the team from RedBull, I xpect it to be another 2 start and park cars before the end of next season.

Gibbs should punt Lagono back to Nationwide and give the 20 to Vickers. I would like to see Vickers in better cars.

I still think the #39 is a possible destination. Newman is a free agent as well and will probably have a ton of suitors.

He started his CUP career in Hendrick cars...

I see Newman staying put, why would he leave, what quality ride will be available?
