Reddick to 23XI

Umm....Jamie started racing for Roush in '06?

And Kasey didn't ride it out with RPM. Rick found him a ride at Red Bull for a year before they got out.
When Jamie was announced it was for 2007. Towards the end of the 2005 season he was released by Ganassi so he could take up his new contract a year early.

So, might we see something similar happen with Reddick?

1.5 more years of Reddick in the 8 car can't be good for Childress, the sponsors, pretty much everyone involved. It's a really awkward situation.

Y'all have some short memories. Jamie was signed and announced in 2005 to join Roush for 2007 but was then was released early by Chip and Felix and then Roush took him in early.

As far as Kasey not riding it out with RPM: I never implied that he did. The post that I was referring to specified nothing at all about Reddick riding it out with RCR or not, just that we never see drivers announcing over one year early. Your point is moot.

The important question is....... Will Reddick take Cheddar's Kitchens with him? and more important, I've never seen or eaten at Cheddar's.

Fair enough, I get it. My point (different than the point you were making) is that it may have been what was initially announced, but the timeline changed to make it a better situation for all involved parties. I would be surprised if Reddick is still in the 8 car in '23.

Gotta give Hambone some credit, he's done a great job balancing this whole deal while keeping his head in the game (and having to deal with Ross). He's set himself up for a lot of success post-driving.

I wonder if Denny intends to drive for his own team at some point before retiring? If the 11 team starts to fall off a bit for a couple years, it wouldn't surprise me

I guess my next question is what sponsors does he take with him? JGR is really the only team that tends to hold sponsors regardless of the drivers lately.

They have a year and a half to work on it. I would guess they have some lined up. 23XI has a whole bunch of getting their $hit together as it is. I hope they don't give him Bubbas pit crew. I'm not all ga ga'd with 23XI being in competition with JGR, they don't exactly have the best record going forward, but who knows it might work. So far 23XI isn't beating the pants off of JGR like Barney's bunch were doing.

Hambone addressed this very candidly on Dale Junior Download recently. First, Denny and Dale discussed Father Time, who remains undefeated. They both agreed Denny (now age 41) could expect age-related decline within "1 to 3 years" although timing varies from person to person. Mentioned several factors, reaction times, appetite for risk, financial contentment, etc.

Second, Denny made it clear he hopes to drive the FedEx sponsored 11 car at Gibbs until he hangs up his helmet, whenever that is. However, he said *if* FedEx were to leave the 11 car, then he would consider driving for 23XI.

Ross has to be happy

Mreh, nearly the entire episode of DBC this week is about the Ross doesn't give a F tour 2022, so he's not out of the woods. They even praised Elliott and said the block was 100% what he should have done. I started brushing up on Revelations looking for signs of the apocalypse as they hate Elliott.

Very true. At this point, how much is 23XI relying on JGR versus how much is being done by TRD itself? Are the two truly separate entities?

AD and his best bud Swan play in Denny's Bball league. Sometimes Reddick is a sub.
Oh, the IMPLICATIONS!!!!!!

From one dickhead owner to another....at least Toyota is adding some class to their roster.

I don't know how valid it is but I keep comparing 23XI to Trackhouse. Justin's bunch seems to be doing much better with less firepower.
I still do not understand why people Justin is doing more with less.

They are recieving the same amount of GM support as HMS and RCR. They literally had GM engineers sitting in their office for months, GM or Chevy as a whole right now is just better. He purchased two charters and a shop, he's spending a pretty penny. Trackhouse is a powerhouse at this juncture because they have consistently shown pace between both drivers. It's clicking on that side every single week.

Not gonna convince me, sorry. 23XI has Michael freaking Jordon, Cup superstar Denny Hamlin, and Doordash, McDonalds, and Monster as sponsors every week. Marks has himself and for sponsors its the typical collection of smaller non-name brands rotating on their cars each week a la most of the mid-sized and smaller teams. I'm sure Kurt and Bubba are getting paid a TON compared to Ross and Suarez who both were desperate for rides.
