RFK

I belive the idea of transparency has been brought up before

What do you mean? We still don't know what RFK actually did besides a generic statement.

Illegally modified a body panel. I dont understand what else you want. How much bondo they used? If they pull an illegal spring they dont tell you the spring rate. So whats the big deal?

I heard on NASCAR Radio that while RFK is not appealing....NASCAR will wait until the deadline passes, and discuss the infraction.

If it is that pop rivet added to keep the bumper cover from flopping around, I'll feel vindicated in my belief that NASCAR plays favorites. If it something else, I will still feel that NASCAR plays favorites... so maybe it does not matter?

Well that's assuming they actually used bondo.... we would know that if they told us. Some people are satisfied with broad generic explanation, apparently you're one of those people. However I'm not not. If you're going to put that kinda penalty on someone you need to be a little more concise

I'd bet NASCAR was explicit, probably showing the team photos and measurements of the exact problem.

They don't need to be more concise with the rest of the world. It just might give other teams ideas.

If you would look at the post above, you would see that if RFK doesn't appeal by NEXT TUESDAY, Nascar is going to report the findings. There is procedure...they follow it.

When you start paying the fine I'm sure they will let you know.

If that's truly the case I think it's setting teams up. We have standard parts that you can't alter, but we have a shortage so you can repair them, but if your repair is wrong we're going to nail you to the wall.

If its a standard part then no one should be able to or be forced to repair them and then get punished for that repair

Makes a person wonder how many other teams would have been busted for improper repairs to "single source" parts had they been checked at the R&D center?

You know, sometimes something is damaged to the point it CAN'T be repaired EXACTLY as it was before? RFK isn't claiming that, at least not publicly, but if this panel was made of carbon fiber I'd question IF it could be repaired anyway? And if that's the case and they have no/can't source spares as they claim, what the heck can they do? Acquire from another Ford team? Who are probably hoarding everything they have due to the shortage. Probably need to bring NASCAR to the shop before leaving for track next time and get approval there.

Sounds like Brad admitted that they should have done a better job repairing it and getting it approved. My case is they should have never been in that situation in the 1st place. Give them enough parts or be responsible for repairing them and returning them to teams in time for the race

I can't argue against that. All good points.

While we are wild ass guessing, how does anybody know if the part wasn't "modified" for an advantage. Sure looked like Nascar thought so. They got caught red handed drilling out the holes on the wheels for an advantage

Maybe that's the culture Brad was talking about bringing to the team when he became an owner. :whoopee::whoopee::XXROFL:

I remember years ago when Brad was still at Penske another team got caught cheating and Brad said something like Penske is too professional to cheat. Then, a few weeks later they got caught cheating.
