Richard Petty: NASCAR has gone from "race time" to "show time"

Hamlin made his situation worse by trying to face NASCAR. In the end he paid for it and looked like a moron by having to backtrack.
It doesn't make sense to bite the hand that feeds you. I think there is an old saying (or I heard it in a movie) "You <driver> need NASCAR more than NASCAR needs you".

It's not a matter of balls. How can they bash modern-day NASCAR racing and then get on the phone with a sponsor and beg for money?
You hit the nail right on the head.

Well that is true, I think the drivers know they are easily replaceable. There are plenty of Nationwide, Camping World, K&N, and Super Late Model drivers just waiting in the wings for their chance at the big show.

Do you think they'd have the balls to give an honest answer.

Nope. Not a chance, but perhaps an owner shouldn't talk about other drivers.

I still don't mind that Petty did. I think he and his son have a bit of a bug in their arse when it comes to Danica, but they provide some balance to all the nauseating hype.

Petty did bash modern nascar a little, but that isn't the question. Saying Danica will never win a race isn't bashing nascar. In fact, I'm pretty sure Richard said Danica is good for the sport and good for RPM.

geeeeeeeeeezus people, can't we agree there is a difference between thinking a driver doesn't have the talent to warrant their ride and actually HATING that driver?

Some become too emotionally involved with their driver, but that's good for the sport too.

Some want to get more than "emotionally" involved and know they can't so the FRUSTRATION set's in.

I dont recall anyone saying they hate Danica other than 20 million wives across america

Again, start bashing all the other drivers that don't warrant their rides..
