Richmond Forecast

Gee wonder what happened there ? Andy's editor went to the race and took two racefans with him instead of asking Andy to go . Hummm. We would have taken you Andy.

Incorrect. I bought tickets and put in for vacation the proper way, filling out paperwork and everything. The editor also bought tickets and some other people, but they made the decision (this week I might add) that I could not go because there was too much stuff to do in my territory at work, because the person who was to cover for me took off at the last minute for the race. So, I got stuck with tickets I bought, could not sell and cannot use.

That is being wronged in the classic sense, especially after the fact that I skipped out on Rockingham. I don't hope for a plane crash or something tragic, just that it rains so the very people who quite literally screwed me out of over $150 get screwed out of their money as well.

Let it rain! Let it rain! Let it rain!

And I appreciate that I'm getting text messages from them telling me how much fun they're having while I'm working during my vacation.

I've done some dickish stuff in my life, but I would never do anything like that -- not without some form of compensation anyways. If they decided to pay me extra for the weekend and/or compensate the cost of my tickets, it would be a different story and I wouldn't be upset about being in the cold rain all day shooting local stuff.

If it were me, Andy, I would probably do the same thing to you - cause I (and they, obviously) think that you are a twit!
Sorry, but that's just how it is...

I would not rub it in while at the track but I would be sure to share with you all of the great photos I took!

It's about to rain enough to wash out everything here in Maryland.

Oh, because I don't like races where nothing happens at all, I'm a "twit"? Okay, gotcha.

There are things you just do not do. My plans were made months in advance and the office had time to accomadate. I should not have to change my plans because other people did not make plans. It's a matter of principle, and I stand up for my principles. I probably would not have gone to the Richmond race anyways, but ultimately, the final decision should have been mine. It just freaking amazes me how many ways people find to spend my money.

Weather.com radar map shows a big batch of green coming through at around 8pm and then another around 9pm :(
Then more around 10:30-11:00. Gonna be tough to race tonight.
Richmond will do everything they can to get it in. I remember 2007, it rained all day and it started pouring right when the race started. They knew there was no way they would race but they tried anyways, but once reality set in (17 laps in), they postponed and even decided to start the race from lap 1.

Hey Andy, did you get new wheels yet?

No, I've been driving my father's van. I'm very glad he's letting me use it. I'm gonna give Hyundai a look and decide this week but the Ford cars are way too expensive. I can get a brand new Honda for less than a used Ford.

If you aren't hung up on body style or model year, you can save a ton on a new '10 or '11. Got my 2010 for $11,500.

Update:

NASCAR Richmond International Raceway Race Day Weather Forecast 2012: Isolated Showers But We Race Tonight

All day, there has been concern that rain might affect tonight's NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Richmond International Raceway because of showers and storms earlier this afternoon. The good news is the forecast is looking mostly dry this evening.

Showers moving through western and northern Virginia have weakened and all but dissipated with the rest of the activity staying to the north. This looks like a mostly dry forecast for the Capital City 400, there is only a slight chance of a stray shower during the race. Given how fast these showers have been moving all day any isolated shower would be quick.

It looks very good that we will get all of the race in this evening. I am going to just mention the chance of a few isolated to scattered showers this evening.

Well, it rained all afternoon, but stopped in time for the pre-race. It did give me some good nap time. Plenty of pictures upcoming, but the previous two night were better racing.
