So you think ESPN should just dump coverage of a game that hundreds of thousands are watching altogether to show raindrops on a camera?

In this case, NASCAR's audience lucked out. If it wasn't raining in Richmond, I'm sure we'd be on ESPN2.
 
Probably on espnnews like last week and most of us dont get that channel.
 
They estimate 60 min to dry so that puts us at 8:45-9pm Race start time with a window of an est. 3 hrs #NASCAR

I'd rather watch Football than some boring rain delay coverage. Plus, this USC - Syracuse game is pretty damn good!
 
Tell me this, everyone who thinks they should cut the game off... how would you feel if NASCAR cut out of the final 30 laps of a race at Talladega for a two hour college football PRE GAME show?

This is a no brainer for ABC.

BTW, ABC has had NASCAR updates on their ticker and has interrupted the game five times for updates.

Eh, it'd be different if you weren't a college football fan. If there was college football coverage that could be shown, but the race was being shown instead...the college football fans wouldn't be happy about it.

They could put it on some other network for right now couldn't they? Now I've been out all day so I don't know what's going on by why is this game running so late?

There are more, far far far many more, college football fans than NASCAR fans. Football (pro and college), baseball, basketball (pro and college) and golf all get higher television ratings than NASCAR. There's a reason college football, pro football, baseball, pro basketball, golf and college basketball are on national television every single week and NASCAR is on cable.
 
What do people think they are missing out on by having the pre-race delayed? Do you need to hear more about who's locked in and who is on the bubble? The reporters are all inside because of the rain and the drivers are on the bus watching football. The race won't even start until 9pm if it starts at all tonight. I suggest that maybe you go pick up some Long John Silvers and relax for a bit.:)

Rain Delay's can be pretty funny thought honestly, I mean I know I'm one of the few on here who can enjoy a driver showing some comedy side and doesn't want to see the drivers being serious

Yep. Especially since the people bitching that they can't see pre-race coverage whine about pre-race coverage being so long.

I haven't seen a funny rain delay show in eight years. The drivers have no personalities, except for Harv, Stewart and Kez who just act like crybabies.

Show me any post where I ever bitched about pre-race coverage, I enjoy pre-race, post race, all the speed shows, I enjoy them things and I want to see it so that's why I'm complaining, it might be raining but they can still do something.

Sometimes it's fun to watch rain delay coverage. But when it's raining this hard they can't do much.

Personally I'd like to see Nicole Briscoe, Shannon Spake and a bunch of driver wives frolicking around in the rain wearing white t-shirts but I don't see that happening anywhere other than my filthy mind.:(

Pre-race coverage annoys me. I'm not missing anything right now. If you enjoy Kenny Wallace SHOUTING and acting like a chimpanzee on the TV, he's on SPEED.

Earth to Andy, How does a half hour prerace show turn into two hours?
And besides Nicole Briscoe is on the prerace show. Learn to figure out when people are just messin with you. A simple YES got you fired up.

So because Andy doesn't like then it shouldn't matter that it's not on tv? Well I'll keep that in mind I guess, I enjoy it and you don't so let me complain it's not on just like you complain about pre-race coverage, only differnce is YOU can help what you don't like I can't, you can tune into the race right before the race starts I can't make the pre-race come on.

Again, for those of you without brains, there are more people watching college football than NASCAR. Verifiable fact. I think I showed these numbers last time this pissfest came up.

But some of you think the 10-20 million people watching college football should be screwed out of their game so three million people can watch NASCAR pre-race coverage where rain is falling on a camera?

I have an early bonehead nominee.

I said they can put the pre-race on another network, i.e ESPN News or ESPN Classics, you want to start calling people bone heads look at yourself as I said this way up there but I guess I have to point that out to you again don't I?
