Richmond Night Pre-race thread

He just got 14th last week lol. His practice times were top 20. That's the best the car can hope for. Just a bad lap.

I know that.. how the champ has fallen.. really just because of last week. He was in the top ten then had the engine issue. People may say he should have gotten a win earlier, or run better but if he finishes Atlanta top ten, he'd be okay.

32 penalty points, missing a pretty sure win at Bristol (thanks Joey) and a blown engine. But he ran himself off the tracks with those crazy rants and it took him too long to get going again, and it's probably going to cost him.

The only person that can beat Gordon is himself... unless Alan set the car up for short runs.

Who on here said that Gordon seems to race better with a chip on his shoulder? Good job

& Ragan grabbed 10th for JJ. "Oh yeah the 48 is only good with JJ & Knaus together".

I was able to pick him in Spike's pool . A bit of a tribute to the old guys storybook career . GOOOOO JEFF.:dpepsi:

Much like last year....this is gonna be one exciting race!

Doesn't JJ satrt at the back regaurdless of where the car is qualified?

I hope both Gordon and Kurt get in, IMO it would just be more interesting and generally better for the sport than having Biffle or someone similar sneak in.

He also grabbed a top-10 finish in Dale Jr's car last year. He can obviously race given the right equipment.

Anyone other than Jr. who locks in tonight is basically sneaking in. Also, Biffle has fewer Top 5 and Top 10 finishes than anyone else in the Top 12 in points right now. That Michigan win helps him out a bunch.
I duno I think Joeys lookin pretty good.. hes got a 20 points cushion to the next wild card and 6 more to truex.. so he has to finish behind Kahne by 20 spots aaand either kurt or Gordon has to win....

I think he's been top 10 in points since Daytona so it doesn't look to me like he's the one sneaking in. It's all a matter of perspective, I suppose :)

Biffle at least has a win. DEJr doesn't.

Starting from 8th, he should be ok if he can keep it in one or two pieces but there's going to be a ****load of stategy and two tire stops. Easy to get mired back in the pack if you don't follow suit.

Two tire stops? I guess if we have alot of short runs but I think four will be the call for most of the race.

All bets are off if a couple of the chase contenders crash.

Two tire stops may be the story of this race. It's all about track position, IMO.

I could see people going for it late but idk, I would hate all these two tire stops if the long green flag run happens and the car doesn't fall off... it's not really strategy if their is no risk.
