How long will this guy be with Roush (or even in cup)? Even Danica is doing better than he has been. When it was first announced that he was moving to cup, the “hotshot” made the statement “I’m going to show these cup drivers how to drive”! Yeah, right. He’s sure doing that – NOT.

I think he's a bust but to be fair Roush and ford in general are garbage.

My theory: The Fenway Sports Group people are forcing Jack to spend less on driver salary, which is why we saw Kenseth left and Edwards leaving, and why they have to double down on youth like Stenhouse and Bayne.

Take away Brad and Carl, who is a legitimate threat to win outta the Ford camp weekly?? Logano now and again...then who? Ford blows donkey balls and has for a while. Toyota isn't much better. There's a reason Chevy dominates.

That said, good for Almirola. Good to see the Pettys and the Air Force in victory lame on Independence Day weekend.

I'm a Chevy guy, but come on, dude. If HMS engines had a Ford or Toyota decal on the front, then they would dominate. Do you think ECR Bowtie engines would be winning anything? Chevrolet Racing is lucky that when Rick opened his downtown car dealership 100 years ago it was a Chevrolet one.

Jack should retire, and Yates should build engines with Penske.
That Penske Dodge was amazing in its last year. Remember the great fuel milage it got? Doug Yates with whomever built that engine would be a real threat to HMS, IMHO.

Penske had a world class engine shop, which top engineers to go with it. Ford would have been smart to let Penske continue building engines. Some of the key Penske engine people were picked up by Yates when they came over to Ford.

Yes! And more ignition switch related deaths.

The ugliest part of that was the 50 cent price tag to save those lives. They didn't even warn customers to use just the key, with nothing hanging from the chain, until they were forced to recall all those cars. Reminds me of the Pinto crimes.

RCR is bigger junk then Roush simple as that im so sick of people ragging on roush look at RCR. It's all Hendrick as far as chevy goes.

I remember when Dodge announced they weren't returning for 2013, the president of the R/T brand went on Dave Despain's show on Speed and said that Penske agreed to keep building the Dodge Cup engine for them, and even agreed to do it at his sports car shop in Pennsylvania to keep a firewall between the Ford Cup team and the enginebuilders. The R/T guy said that they considered it but Fiat management vetoed the idea. They didn't want a Ford team building Dodge engines for NASCAR. Can't say I blame them, actually.

Interesting. Fiodge really messed up losing Penske. That's the ONLY organization with the cash to challenge HMS.

That has more to do with RCR's crop of drivers then anything. They have 3 good but not great drivers who would be a #2 or 3 on any other team. The fact that Paul menard is there best driver speaks volumes (and I like Menard)

Yeah, those Dodge engines were really amazing. Got really great HP, fuel mileage, and they didn't have any failures for 2+ years. Too bad Penske switched to Ford.

LOL. I know that trying to bring a little objectivity to a silly manufacturer war is probably a losing proposition, but I'll take a shot at it.

Ford only has like 5 cars in the field that are run by big money teams that are capable of dominating (Roush and Penske, obviously), and Roush has essentially fallen off the map. I dunno how Carl and Jimmy Fennig have even managed to win twice this year, but more power to 'em. Penske has been on it, though, so clearly Ford itself is not the problem. Toyota is just having an off year thanks to the rule changes. I highly doubt they'll be down for too much longer. They were running pretty well at Kentucky.

As for Chevy, like Bobby said, they have the most cars in the field, and it's essentially all about Rick Hendrick. Pretty much all the teams that have been performing well for Chevy run Hendrick stuff. However, I will acknowledge that Newman (y'all really need to stop ignoring him) and Menard have run much better this year than I thought they would.

Stenhouse has been a disappointment in cup, hasn't been a threat to win, or shown any speed. Roush doesn't make any sense, seems like on tracks that run both series, Roush would have put Stenhouse in a Nationwide car.

And adding trevor to the team next year is just as bad as ricky

yeah, he is doing worse than Stenhouse did when he was racing in N'wide by far. Doesn't make sense if you are tight on money to not run Stenhouse double duty. I don't see how it could have at least helped Stenhouse a couple of positions in cup.

Then they come to Ford and start blowing up. Those Roush / Yates engines cost the defending champ a win and a spot in the chase.

It was a lot more circumstances then just that. Kind of like when Kurt Busch kamikazed him at kentucky. If Dodge would of had as many engines out there compared to the other 4 big builders they would of had failures.

It always is, but Brad was cruizing to a win at Atlanta when his engine blew up. That cost him a chase spot. It was obvious Roush / Yates had a problem last year. 5 or 6 engine failures for the 7 teams they build for. That's a lousy percentage these days.

Yeah I remember that and I remember its pissing me off for the lack of better terms. But if you do the math 6 engine failures in 36 races and 7 cars. Thats 6 out of 252 engines. Thats less then 3%....

That and Hendrick pulls the strings on 10 freakin' cars.

Sad situation.

Looking at Stenhouse... I mean the man is just invisible. All jokes aside, I'm going to hold my opinion to the end of the year. I'm not expecting miracles, but when the end of the year comes. I will really have a stable opinion. Jack better hope Biff stays, because with Stenhouse and Bayne... IMO Chris Buescher looks better than Bayne sometimes. Honestly, Bayne will end up like Regan Smith if he is not careful... We all know how that went.

Ford is not the strongest out there, but when RPM and Front Row is front of Roush... Something is wrong. Roush has been with Ford for years, I expect more from them.
