I love short track racing (Taylor's Version)
Jason Leffler was airlifted to a hospital after a violent wreck at Bridgeport Speedway. They cancelled the entire race.
I seen a few tweets saying they've heard reports he had passed on, but nothing being confirmed so far.
It's better to get it right than get it first. JFC a doctor pronounces someone dead, not Twitter.
I hope that's not trueI seen a few tweets saying they've heard reports he had passed on, but nothing being confirmed so far.
It's why I said nothing is confirmed yet, someone just said they heard reports about it or something but they even said nothing is confirmed just yet.
I hope that's not true
I hope it's not either, be some sad news to get but from the other stuff I've seen they aren't true, he's just in critical condition
here's a pic of what's left of the car
Confirmed #NASCAR NJ State Police confirm 37-year-old driver killed at Bridgeport Speedway. NBC10 in Philly, citing source, says it's Jason Leffler
If true very sad. As respectful as can be said RIP.
I think he had a young son
Safety is all I can say, from experience. The discussion is for another thread.I saw a terrible crash at one of my local tracks Saturday night. Two cars got together and flipped violently and one driver had a broken rib and ankle. I bring this up because it's amazing how many more injuries there are at half the speed(or even less) than we see in a Nascar race.
SportsCenter has done a nice job of ignoring this story --- because a third string backup quarterback who can't throw a football is so much more important.
And people seriously think ESPN cares enough to outbid NBC Sports for Cup AND Nationwide TV rights?
Just heard - within the first 7 minutes of our top local news.
Even they felt it was important enough to let us know before their sportscast.
But maybe we should stick to the topic here, Andy, like Magnethead says.
RIP.
