Has anybody been to a NASCAR event as GA? I've been to COTA for a sports car event several years ago, but completely different circumstances and operations. Next week will be my first time for the NASCAR event. $80 each for GA tickets was had to beat. Just not sure what to bring in - leading towards a blanket and 2 folding chairs. Don't want to weigh down, as I like being able to move around, at least on Saturday.

Any tips?

Probably different since I camped at Road America and spent my time wandering around all weekend before finding a shady spot I liked for the Cup race. The only other road course I've been to was Summit Point and again I spent time wandering around. Wandering to different spots let's you figure out where you want to things from.

Depends on who I am going with or going alone. If I am going alone I generally bring next to nothing into the track and spend the entire day moving around. It's completely different if you are with another person or a group. Usually we will set up in a decent spot leading into a turn after a long straight or some essess and then also look for a jumbotron so we can follow the cars the rest of the way around the track. Even when with a group, I always find myself wandering at least for an hour.
