Robby Gordon's fate

I'd love to see Robby win the next race without any on the track incidents, it sure would take away from the chase or would it add to it??? Anyway he still should sit for at least 1 race...Harvick had to a few years ago. IMO Robbys' incident was equal to what Harvick did at Bristol or maybe even worse. Robby also has a proven track record of being a very agressive driver ( shoving J.Gordon out of the way for the win at NHS a few years back), that being said the penalty was just chump change for all of them. I'm not trashing Robby ...I think he can drive the wheels off just about anything. That being said he needs to keep his anger in check. Sometimes I wonder if all this agressive driving stuff isn't somewhat orchestrated by Nascar.....just food for thought. Sure boosts your interest doesn't it???

First of all, Havick wasn't parked or suspended a race for on track incidents. He was called to the "Big Red Trailer" for the on track incident. Kevin pulled his truck up to the "Big Red Trailer", got out and told an official if they wanted to talk to him they knew where he'd be, turned around and went to his motorhome. That defiance to NASCAR is what got Kevin the suspension.

The next thing I highlighted is the thing that cracks me up. ROFLMBO!
Speaking of shoving someone out of the way for the win, I know Rusty has some memories he's not let go of yet of the DuPont car shoving him out of the way once or twice for a win.
If giving the bump and run is considered "over aggressive drivers" and you were to suspend everyone guilty we'd be lucky to see 4 cars racing each week.

WOW EAGLE 1 !!!!!
Someone who knows why Harvick was suspended !!!!!! How often this subject comes up is amazing and more often than not, very few know the reason Harvick received the suspension.
BTW, didn't that incident between Coy Gibbs and Harvick take place at Martinsville and not Bristol ?????? Or is my imagination playing tricks on me again ????

You know Wizzer, I think you're right but I'm not 100% sure either.

Biffle and Harvick Tangled at Bristol. Harvick spun out Gibbs at Martinsville.

YEh and why did Harvick get suspened.....he was being an idiot. Different scenarios but same basis for the punishments, same type of track record leading up to the punishments. Nascar lets a lot of stuff go that they shouldn't. Remember Earnhardt at Bristol, last lap pushing T. Labonte out of the way for the win? So why is this any different? Getting back to NHS....when all is said and done in the Big Red Trailer I think it boils down to what is best for Nascar not what is best for the drivers or teams. Nascar is running with this, making it a selling point for the Chase. Everyone loves a little controversy , especially when it is playoff time. I still think all 3 drivers...Kasey, Robby, and Mikey should of sat a race, in Robbys' and Kaseys' incidents maybe a 2 race suspension was in order. Nascar of course would want them on the track for the next race because this is all TNT and NBC will be talking about, besides the Chase drivers. Ratings equals $$$$, Nascar again looks at the Big dollar potential and doesn't do the right thing.

I just read this......"""Kevin Harvick was suspended for one race in 2002 when Nascar did not allow him to compete in a Cup race at Martinsville, Va., as punishment for aggressive driving in a truck race the day before."""""""
My question is...is this separate from the one you are talking about?

"Jimmy Spencer was the last driver to be suspended in 2003 for punching Kurt Busch." Now Mike Helton promises more severe penalties in light of recent on track behavior. Glad to read that...hope he means it.

We should take a poll. Name some of the more popular drivers and what they would have to do for Helton to suspend them for 1 race. I got a feeling that some wouldn't be suspended even if Helton woke up one morning with his rear end sore and covered in Vaseline.
I could be wrong tho... :D

Hahahaha...wouldn't touch that statement with a 10 foot pole. I don't see any of the top drivers being suspended for anything. Got a question....why are most of the opinions of Mike negative? What has he done or hasn't done that generates so much negativity?

dsdjtlts, you said your piece. Many times. In the entirety of your rants, not once have you offered a solution to the opinion beyond separating (since they are already seperate) of NASCAR and ISC.
It is generally found people offering opinions without solutions are a part of the problem while those responding to that opinon with answers make them a part of the solution.

You offered an opinion and, with all due respect, it is accepted as presented.

Many years ago a wise old sage told me something that applies here and specifically to dsdjtlts and his (or her) opinion in this discussion.

There is a fine line between being stubborn and being stupid. The difference between the two is knowing where that line is.
Only dsdjtlts knows where she (or he ) might fit.
As for the rest of us, well suffice it to say, we have our opinions too, leaving dsdjtlts to draw his (or her) own conclusions.

I'm glad you could get that off your chest.
