RIP to a legend. He was always one of my favorites in NASCAR.
Very very sad news .
Sad to see how RYR went from one of the top teams in Nascar to folding in such a short time
Go watch Davey run some laps now
Yeah, today (yesterday) can really **** off. A terrible day tbh, I'm glad Robert was honored this year in the NASCAR HOF and was at Darlington this year.
Davey is probably waiting for him in the engine room. Rest easy, sir.
One of the greats.
I got into NASCAR just as Davey and that 28 team really came of age. Lots of memories. RIP Robert Yates.
RIP to a true legend.
Can't help but think of him when I see a car no. 28. A true legend of the sport. RIP
This is where I fell on love with nascar this car, Robert Yates was a true racer and will be forever remembered thank God we were able to blessed with him in the racing world. May he RIP
It's only Tuesday and this is the worst week ever
Met him a couple of times --- what a nice man.
Racing has lost another giant.
My condolences to the entire Yates team and the racing world.
Godspeed Robert Yates. A giant among the legends of Nascar, reunited now with Davey Allison. Race on, Robert, race on.
I just noticed this thread. I legitimately did a double take when I saw it in the Checkered Flag section. I can't believe it.
RIP Mr. Yates. The sport wouldn't have been the same without you.
