It's our third straight triple-header weekend and on top of that, we have a double-header Saturday! The Regular Season point battles are heating up. 25 points separates the entire Top-10 in Cup points. Jolly Mean Giant has a 23 points lead in Xfinity, but 3rd-10th are separated by just 30 points. The Truck Series point lead has slimmed down to just a 7 point margin and 4th-9th are split by 26 points. Why is all of this important? 2 words: Playoff Points. Remember, the Top-10 in regular season points earn playoff points. An automatic playoff berth and 15 playoff points goes to the regular season champion, 10 playoff points for 2nd in regular season points, 8 for 3rd, 7 for 4th, on down to 1 for 10th. Pocono marked the start of the 2nd half of the Cup regular season. This weekend at Michigan and Gateway marks the end of the first half of the regular season for Xfinity and Truck. Keep your eye on these regular season point battles as they will be crucial towards the playoff.

You should also turn your eyes towards the battle around 30th in points. Petr Smetana is 28th in points and lost playoff eligibility, Victree8 started the year with 2 straight wins but now sits 29th in points, and @Blaze88 currently holds the tiebreaker in a 3-way tie for 30th in points which puts him back into the playoff grid. Quinn996 also has a win but sits 14 points behind 30th. This battle can and will play a huge factor into who gets into the playoff and who sits out.

I'll start off by saying that updates will be questionable this weekend. I will be away from home but I will still do what I can to try and give updates and results throughout the weekend. I will also say that the following weekend at Sonoma/Iowa, I will be unable to give updates as I will be working a conference and won't be available between Friday morning and Sunday afternoon.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have lost playoff eligibility in any series, or if you don't make the playoffs later this year, you are still able to and actually encouraged to keep on playing. Your participation in the league in any series is more important than you may think. First of all, in the Cup Series this hasn't yet been an issue since after 14 races, our smallest field has been 36 (Kansas) which was the only Saturday night race of the year so far. I personally am extremely proud of that and hope that trend continues throughout the season. We have enough players where we have had to implement the Top-30 rule for the playoff as well as restricting the absence policy with the saves. So I am taking the time now to plea to you to keep this going because if we start having people fall off, the Top-30 rule starts to become obsolete. And by continuing to play even if you can't be in the playoff, you add value and competition to an already competitive fantasy league.

It is in the Xfinity and Truck Series where absences have been a bigger issue. We once had 25+ players in each and now we are struggling to have fields of at least 20, and we sometimes haven't been able to reach that number. In the Xfinity Series especially, where 12 get into the playoff, to have a field of only 19-20 players isn't exactly great for competition. Even if you have already lost playoff eligibility, I ask that you still try to play. Battle for those wins. Help us increase the competitive value in these series. I understand it may seem pointless to keep playing when you can't go for the playoff and the championship. But for the league as a whole, your participation matters and is appreciated.

I was asked about this stat, and I thought this was rather interesting. If you remember, you all chose a manufacture when you registered to play in 2017. So let's take a look at the number of wins and the manufacturer standings. I am calculating manufacture points based on the highest finishing player of that manufacturer and taking their final score, minus stage points as that is how NASCAR has been calculating their manufacturer points so far in 2017. (The Top-10 bonus at the end of the race is exclusive to the league and not used in NASCAR. It is included in a player's final score in this league).

Wouldn't hurt but I should have known I had the wrong one, Bubba was in it. You do alot for the game and finding a entry list isn't hard, I just found the wrong one this week somehow.
