RR Fantasy NASCAR: Week 23 - Watkins Glen

We are only 5 races away from the beginning of the Cup Series playoff! The past weekend was dominated by Oldschoolracing519. He won the Truck and Xfinity Series Poles, Stage 1 in Xfinity, and the Cup and Xfinity races! I haven't given many shout-outs for player performances this season but that one is pretty worthy.

PLEASE NOTE: I've been extremely lenient on a rule this year. Starting in the regular season finale in all series and throughout the playoffs, I will NOT count a driver in your prediction if it is not clear who the specific driver is. I bring this up now because in the Xfinity Series race this weekend, there will be 4 drivers with the last name of Jones. Of course, throughout the year when one of you would put "Jones" in an Xfinity prediction, you mean Erik Jones. This has happened often and I used to not count it but due to its repeated occurrence, I let it go for a while. However, I can not and should not be assuming you are picking that driver. Because for all I know, you could just as easily mean Brandon Jones in that scenario. This has even occurred in the Cup Series. Pretty much everyone knows to specify between Kyle and Kurt Busch, but how many of you caught the Jimmie Johnson vs. Billy Johnson at Sonoma? Answer: not many, I got several predictions with just "Johnson", most likely just out of routine so it didn't feel necessary to type out "48" or "Jimmie". The biggest issue has actually been in the Trucks with the two Nemechek's as several has predicted Joe and John Hunter when both race, but some just put "Nemechek".

I have been very quiet about that rule recently and I have let things go, especially when I am unable to catch it before the race. But I am saying this now with advanced notice that from the Cup race at Richmond through every race in the rest of the year, I will not count drivers in predictions if I am unable to know for sure what driver you mean without assuming. I don't care if the one driver wins every week and the other starts and parks. I don't want to assume, because there's always a small chance I could be wrong since I don't have the superpower ability to read minds. I will do my best to notify you if I see the issue but I am sometimes busy and won't always have that chance so please be careful!
