RR Fantasy NASCAR: Week 25 - Bristol

We are just 3 races away from the playoff in the Cup Series. We have a new winner in LandonFandon34, but with JillNY falling below the Top-30 in points, still only 13 spots are filled by winners plus another for our current regular season points leader who has yet to win. The point margin in the playoff cut-off line is a mere 5 points. As 3 playoff spots are held by points, we also have 3 winners fighting to get into the Top-30 and all 3 are within 14 points of doing just that. The chase for the playoff will only intensify more with 3 races remaining as new winners could increase the urgency of the entire field.

In the Xfinity Series, Jolly Mean Giant has a strong 56 point lead, but even that is not safe with 5 races remaining until the Xfinity playoff. After Dodge lost his playoff eligibility and Drew823 has resigned from competition, that means we will have only 12 winners towards the playoff after this weekend. Hope is not lost for the 7 others hoping to sneak their way in. The Xfinity Series has a standalone race at Road America next week and we have seen this year so far that standalone races create exciting opportunities in the fantasy league.

The Camping World Truck Series has been more competitive than perhaps any series has ever been in this fantasy game. After 13 races, we have 13 different winners. The regular season point lead changed hands once again, increasing the drama for the battle over playoff points. Meanwhile, the margin at the cut-off is a minuscule 3 points. 3 races remain until the playoff while 10 active and eligible players still seek their first win and a chance for the championship.

How important are playoff points? Well, look at Nascarman and myself (24over48) in the Truck Series. We each have 3 stage wins and a race win, 1 playoff point for each stage win and 5 for winning a race, and I have a slim 5 point lead over him. Except his stage wins all came in the Fantasy League exclusive Grand Slam events where stage wins were worth an extra playoff point. So Nascarman currently has 11 playoff points while I have 8. If the points stay that way, I could have another 15 playoff points while Nascarman could have 10 more for being 1st and 2nd in the regular season standings, respectively. Put it all together, and I could have a narrow 2 playoff point advantage over Nascarman in the playoffs. That could be the difference between elimination and a chance to race for the championship at Homestead.

Honestly, if you're not excited about the playoff races in this league, then I feel sorry for you.
