Shawn had a major engine explosion in Bristol yesterday and the blower snout hit a fence post I was standing next to. Here is a link to a you tube video and a link to an article Comp Plus did about the incident. You can see the snout coming off the blower. It bent the heck out of that post but it held up a saved me from getting anything worse then a few bruises and scratches on my arm.

Dang! Glad you're OK ND
Thanks Clutch. It's amazing how much power there is in these engines...and when something goes wrong it can go wrong in a very bad way. Now its time to head to Norwalk Ohio to do it all again.:)

Damn what a blast. Glad you're okay.

Glad you are ok Nitro. Nice to dodge a bullet.

That was a massive explosion! Was anyone hurt from shrapnel or the fire?

I really don't remember, but I do remember that there were a lot of valve train parts hitting some of the haulers in the pits. I will finally get to watch some NASCAR this weekend. Since there is a week off before our Chicago race I'm going to park the hauler at John Forces shop in Indy and get a rental car and check in to the hotel and relax for a week. Plus, I am going to go watch the sprint cars at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville Indiana Sat night.:D

Good plan. Sprints also run Friday nite in case you wanted to watch Tona 400 Saturday. Keep chipping away
with the 7-11 squad. You have probably been here before - http://unionjackpub.co/ - but its a pretty
good spot in Indy. We would hit that when up for the 500. Had pretty neat conversation with Robby Gordons
dad there in '93.

I didn't realize the Daytona race is on Sat night. Now I have to make a decision which race I want to watch because I can't go to the sprint car races on Fri night because I'm going to race slot cars in Indy. Maybe I will just go to the Lucas Oil Raceway during the day on Sat and watch the Streetcar Outlaw qualifying. Yes, Union Jacks is very good... I have been going there for many years.:)
