everybody worried about SHAD

what about the other car that failed inspection

Clint's inspection failure was AFTER qualifying - too low on the front end reportedly due to a stuck shock.
The 48 car never turned a lap. It failed the initial inspection.

Clint's penalty is the same that NASCAR usually does for for his inspection failure for when he got caught?

Oh I see it ok to be illegal sometimes
And depending on what time it is also determines your penalty
I got it now
Notice i did not say cheating

Well Clints was a verifiable part failure which does happen from time to time.unlike the 48's manipulation of body panels.Which is suposed to be a NO-NO with NASCAR.

so again what u r telling me is that there has NEVER BEEN A PENALTY FOR A FAILED PART
correct

Guess you didn't read my post Clint's was a PART FAILURE LF Shock. Not a manipulation of body panels.Big difference to me but I guess not to you.

Don't worry, I see the difference between a tiny piece of dirt vs a well engineered body panel. I doubt having your splitter up in the air at Daytona was an advantage.

..but having it too low is. lol my mistake.

BOOM. RT @NASCAR: #NASCAR suspends Chad Knaus 6 races, $100K fine, penalizes No. 48 team 25 points for Daytona infractions

Clints LF shock valving failed to releive after being ran like it should have, could have been trash in it or misaligned disc's. Either way it failed causing the car to be to low in post inspection it was'nt an illegal modification. Same penalty applies if you have a spring collapse after a run, to the rear.
The 48 car had a part modified outside of NASCAR's guidelines not a failure, maybe not on purpose either?

He already got his penalty.Time Disallowed and sent to the rear of the field to start the Duels.

AGAIN with the not reading.I think in the above quote that Clint did get A PENALTY already.Nowhere have I said there was no penalty for a failed part?

Do I think his penalty is fair?I will say it's one of the penaltys that NASCAR has stayed consistant on.

  • NASCAR suspends Knaus for six weeks: NASCAR has issued penalties, suspensions and fines to the #48 team in the Sprint Cup Series, as a result of rules infractions found on Feb. 17 during opening day inspection for the Daytona 500. The #48 car was found to be in violation of Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4J (any determination by NASCAR officials that race equipment used in the event does not conform to NASCAR rules detailed in Section 20 of the rule book or has not been approved by NASCAR prior to the event); and 20-2.1E (if in the judgment of NASCAR officials, any part or component of the car not previously approved by NASCAR that has been installed or modified to enhance aerodynamic performance will not be permitted -- unapproved car body modifications). As a result, crew chief Chad Knaus and car chief Ron Malec have been suspended from the next six Sprint Cup Series championship events, suspended from NASCAR until April 18 and placed on NASCAR probation until May 9. Additionally, Knaus has been fined $100,000. Driver Jimmie Johnson and car owner Jeff Gordon have been penalized with the loss of 25 driver and 25 owner points, respectively.(NASCAR)(2-29-2012)

i'm not compairing penalties

More than I thought would happen.Putting him under house arrest WITHOUT internet and his CELLPHONE would have been huge.

Chad may be paying a little extra for the 'crack the back' instructions to JJ in the same car. I'll bet nascar asked him why, and Chad never came clean.

I bet the next time JGR gets away with murder, I will slander their name profusely until I am satisfied.

Three oil pans, all unapproved, no points taken. BS
Kinda interesting how all that and now the 48's penaltys compare isn't it?

Just like that "cracked" plate that NASCAR took from the 48 last year:confused:
