It is high time drivers and teams stop with the "I don't want to get involved" lines. I know they're basically told to take their millions and shut up but this is getting out of hand.

Anyone with a working set of eyes can see there is something up with his car this whole year. And anyone with a working set of eyes can see that NASCAR allows him to do what he wants in this series.

Now, the question is do you honestly think that if enough people wrote letters, started petitions and complained that any action would be taken? Would they deny the herd of Jr sheep their new record?

The only way they would really listen is if drivers complained...so I say we all write emails or letters to our favorite teams, asking them to speak up...not be intimidated by The Redneck Mafia and start to demand fairness.

I don't think it will help. I feel drivers fear of what could happen if they got on NASCAR's bad side and didn't roll with the show they put forward. Considering how many Jr fans are out there, NASCAR isn't going to change a thing because most of the fans are OK with the outcome of the race as long as Jr wins. People see only what they want to see.

Jr has too big of a fan base. NASCAR is happy with that and won't change. Plain and simple.

wahh, wahh, wahhhhhh
we have a right to voice our opinion too, bowtie!!!

take your wah wah somewhere else!

When Gordon was winning, Elliot and Waltrip and a bunch more. People wined about them to. Jr won and it is in the books. Any time someone rules on a track they cheated. Always been that way and always will. :D

If you don't want to do anything, you don't have to 66.
If I knew it would make a difference, I'd be the first one in line. But NASCAR doesn't care. I read that they had a lot of crew chiefs and drivers lined up and the big red truck after the race telling NASCAR off and it didn't do anything.

Gollum, you are talking about something completely different that what happened yesterday!!!

Ok then fill me in. I was at the race and didn't see all replays. What happen.

The problem is the rule. It has a grey area. It's not a black and white rule. It doesn't say "at no time shall a driver go below the yellow line." It says you can't go below the yellow to advance, unless you're being forced down there. So therefore it's completely subjective. It's just a matter of opinion on whether or not somebody was passing or had already passed or whether they were forced down or not.

Anyone recall why this rule was instituted?

Was it because if a driver got into the grass, he may cause a spin?

Right, I don't think the rule itself is BS. It's the way they use it to manipulate what happens in the race.

Same reason they created restrictor plates, Talladega is no longer a useful track.

I think the rule was put in place because Jeff Gordon made a pass on the apron going into turn 3 with Ricky Rudd on the apron in a damaged car a few years back in the Daytona 500.

Gordon wasn't below the yellow line during that pass. Rudd was on the apron. Rusty was in the high line. Gordo split the two.

I have to disagree with you Hatter, if I remember correctly Gordon was all the way on the flat.

The Gordon / Rudd thing had nothing to do with the yellow line rule. They just got tired of cars running four wide going into the turns and not having enough room and taking out all the cars. Good rule, but its not enforced the best way.

Dino asked why the rule was instituted. That has to do with Gordon/Rudd

The rule didn't come about because of that incident. Where's Hardscrabble??

Gordon passed Wallace to win the Daytona 500 in 1999. NASCAR implemented the yellow line rule in 2001. Why did they wait for two years?

I don't care if Junior didn't have room, or was in the act of passing, or whatever the excuse is.

Geoffrey Bodine made a similar move at Talladega last year and was black flagged. He was forced below the yellow line by the car on the outside, but he still got a black flag. Nascar's call today is inconsistent despite it being the same scenario. Sucks for Bodine. Great for Jr. fans.

It boils down to this. They weren't going to black flag a fan favorite on the last couple of laps. Black flagging Jr. would give them more of a headache than they were willing to deal with.

I don't see a differnce guys. Gordon in his winning seasons, Bobby L. in his, Tony In His, Terry L.. and should I say Petty and Dale Sr. all had conterversys in there winning seasons.

I say get over all this driver bashing crap. I was at the race and my two fav. drivers ended up 1st and 2nd. Its not my fault your drivers crashed, so chill with the basher crap its lame.

I know Ive made a few Gorden jokes in the past on the thread games but thats a game. You guys are taking this sport to serisly.

I read about him going below the yellow line. "Crap happens guys"

I find it funny that Jr fans are now trying to compare this all to when people disliked a driver dominating. "Same thing happened when Elliot was winning" "Same thing happened when Petty was winning" " Same thing happened when Gordon was winning".

Give it a rest, the two situations are not alike in any way...and Jr is no where near the same class as these guys. They didn't do it with NASCAR's help, in fact Elliot did it with NASCAR actively working against him. So stuff it.

I for one will be speaking with my wallet. Boycotting nascar products.

Folks, the below the yellow line rule was implemented AFTER Dale Sr's death at Daytona. It had NOTHING to do with anything previous to that, except in hindsight. The rule is a good one if and ONLY if NA$CAR upholds it in a consistent manner, which they DO NOT. It is obvious that those of you who do not see the truth, and you can take Kenseth OUT of this factor, Jr. DID pass Jimmie Johnson who was in the lead, below the yellow line, which should have been the cause of a black flag to Jr. I like Jr. but he was in the wrong this time. Nascar is just afraid to call him on the carpet for his wrong.

Off soapbox.

they way I see it, if he went below the line he should have been black flagged (this from a jr fan) if they prove he did take some points and or money. But lets end this petty bickering it gets nothing done.

Ok I am with the program now. I didn't see the pass and didn't know any thing about it untill I read it just a few minutes ago. I like Jr. But if he passed under the yellow line. Yes black flag him like any one else. That way it would give my main man Harvick the win. :D :D . But Nascar didn't and I dout they will take his record away from him. So it is on tho the next race.

I wonder what it is going to be like in a DEI meeting this morning. Park went over the line after rubbing against another car and he was black flagged but Jr doesn't touch anybody, in fact he is alot of room, and goes below the line and doesn't. Hmmmm.

Jr. is an average driver and with NASCARs help he wins a few races but at the end of the year he still can't break the top 10.

That is the fact.Bill had everyone from
old man France to all types of assorted lackeys working against Elliott.

It didnt escape some of us yesterday that Darrell'revisionist historian'Waltrip made a remark about Elliott. After all.....DW was the beneficiary in '85!

As for the subject of this post:mad:#$% yes!Strip the victory.Harvick won.

Very sad when Jr.still cant hang with the other drivers----even with Helton on his side.Think Kerry Earnhardt and you see where these people are without Big Daddy Nascar pulling the strings.

Of course,Kerry will begin receiving every type of break possible before this BGN season is finished.

   man i love this board and some of its fan fiction!!..keep up the good work!! ;)

and paul...I have written and complained to some sponsors in this sport and didn't even get a response...i agree if you feel strong enough about something to follow through, but you better get a big enough following or you won't even be noticed....

Don't forget folks...you still have Kelly and Taylor Earnhardt to whine about.

How the hell has Kerry gotten any breaks?
