Someone's gonna get seriously hurt with this slamdrafting business that's going on.

Eddie Mercer slam-drafted Alli Owens (who took a very hard shot to the driver's door) at Daytona caused a massive pileup, Juan Pablo nearly took out Mark, Ryan's wreck could've been big (brake pedal is in the middle, David).

These drivers need a Come To Jesus speech on Sunday during the Driver's Meeting.

I nominate Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman to deliver the speeches.

Ryan needs to accept part of the blame for that one for pulling down in front of him too.and if Norm Benning was out of the way like he should have been it never would have happened.He should have pulled off with the rest of the field fillers.

I like Newman but David had a big run on Ryan, and Ryan did indeed pull down in front of him quickly. If David slammed on the brakes as you would advise, there would have been a much bigger wreck. There were cars behind him you know. Of course ARCA drivers would show these cup rookies how it's done.:sarcasm:

There's an apron and a brake pedal and a gas pedal you can lift out of.

Of course NASCAR set the precedent last October that it's better to wreck a driver rather than avoid a wreck. :sarcasm:
 
I think that sooner rather than later the practice of bump, now called slam drafting, is going to cause the mega big one. Then after a driver gets seriously injured and hopefully not worse, Na$car will step in with another knee jerk reaction rule.

It's one thing if done on a half mile short track, completely different going 180+ mph on the big tracks.

And <pulling my soap box out and stepping on> I really have doubts over the abilities of some of the drivers that give or receive the slam.

I'd have to agree that there are only a select few drivers that really know how to do this correctly....Jr, Smoke, Mark Martin, Jeffy G., and J. Johnson, although I wonder about Johnson sometimes.
 
I think some guys just like to ring the bell of some drivers when they get the chance. Goes back to the whole no respect in the garage again.

Same here. Johnson's been in the right spot a couple times and Hendrick horsepower has sure been a big help but I can think of a few races where he's caused the big one. In the Coke Zero 400, Jimmie hit everything except the pace car and still got away clean.
 
Jimmie's bump drafting has much improved, fan here, but he was not the best at it earlier in his career. Other drivers are willing to work with him now unlike a few years back so I'm thinking he's learned the art.

not just slamdrafting, but slamdrafting in the corner.....
