This new chase format has made teams operate under very unnecesary pressure of trying to make a cut only for their great efforts to be undone in the next race since you really cant have a bad race if you dont win that particular race within the round.

Fact checks:

In 4 races a total of 11 on track incidents involving chasers due to a wreck, a failure of some kind or bad luck has occured. Not including pit mishaps. This is a pretty alarming number of incidents given that, these guys are suppose to meet the challenge to compete and yet you can count on half of them to have some sort of issue during the race.

To me, it's all because of pressure. Unnecesary pressure being mounted on these drivers/crews and teams.

Making the chase this way almost makes it not worth the headache. I think you should be able to have fun while also running for a championship. It should never be so tense that you can have a meltdown when your car is making a sound its not suppose to be making.

Look back to last week at Allmendinger and this week's at Harvick. Specially the latter.

Harvick done threw away a good run because his head played a trick on him.

The chase as it was before, if someone got in your way and he cost you a good finish you were, perhaps able to overcome that by being able to race the rest of the races unimpeded by point resets.

Now, if someone gets in your way and costs you a good finish you cant even make that up because there is no room to do so in 3 races. (1 in which you have zero control over)

Just throwing this out there: NO, being agressive doensn't pay under this system either. Not going for a championship it doesn't.

Race hard, go for wins, see what happens. If the bad luck bug bites you, so be it. Sometimes playing conservative leads to even bigger mistakes or failures.

Anyone that had a crap race today can make up for it by winning in the next 2 races or points racing to stay in the top 8.

They should shrug this race off because honestly if you didnt win, it really dont matter. You could win next week & this week wouldnt have meant bantha fodder.

Eff the chase, enjoy the race.

I've got all three TRD powered Camrys in the top 8 of the second round. Pressure? If Delana's wife had a mental meltdown, maybe they should swap drivers? Big boy pants required.

the 11 and 18 could use some big boy pants too.

Really? They didn't pit because their cars didn't turn. Trust me....the JGR guys know a thing or two about cars that won't turn. Anybody know if Delana's wife took the blame for **** canning the race? ......because he always does that. Right?

This thread is about the chase, not engine departments. Cmon son.

Harvick is a top notch driver. If he says the car wont turn, the damn thing wont turn. Im taking his word over anybody's here.

no one melts down more then them two when things go wrong with the car, pit crew.

Okay. I've got all three of my JGR somehow powered non domestic cars in the top 8 of the second round. There you go. :punkrocke

Harvick is 6th in the current round, pitting before a potential tire blowout turned out to be a potentially good move. Got to shift gears with this format, especially when you are out on the track after taking two and they are knocking the wall down. a couple of really good cars are in the bucket, Harvick is alive and well and ahead of JJ, Kez, Kahne, Gordon, Kenseth, and Junior.

Damn good point man. Happy will be fine. He has more speed than anybody by a lot. Takes more than that though.

One of the thing I've always hated about the Chase was how much a bad race during The Chase cost you. You could have the perfect regular season, rack up a couple of top wins, many top 5s and top 10s. Basically be a front runner in the regular season. However, have one bad race in The Chase and you're close to being screwed. Honestly, I don't think one bad race should have that much of an impact on a team's season.

in a play off system that's the way it works, and not going to change with this win and in thing.

Got two chase champions and the JR in the bucket right now, the press has multiple headlines for the week on mainstream TV and it will be on all the sports shows all week. Do you think they care what you or I think about the millions of viewers (free publicity) that will be broadcast too?

Idk why that question needs to be asked by you & kylefan18. If you watched the race or listened to harvick's post race interview you'd understand what went south.

I watched the race but make it a point not to listen to Harvick speak............. if you say he had a bad tire I believe you, he lost the race so I couldnt be happier, why he lost doesnt matter much to me

No......... the crew said the tires were fine, the bully is driving scared, karma has bit him every week........................ karma is in his head
The crew said the tires were fine after he made the stop. Theres no way to tell the condition of the tires without coming in. The car felt like he was racing with a low tire & he came in for reassurance because many others had tire troubles. Karma for what?

You dont even listen to Harvick explain his issue but you want to comment on it? Gtfo. You sound like a fool.

there is no reason or logic that works with those two..whatever you do don't call them psycho trools..they are real sensitive about that.

ask Kyle Busch why karma is biting the bully. So Harvick didnt have a bad tire then, I mentioned that earlier I believe

If you want karma you can see Kyle having a ****tty year after ****tty year when he rages in the nationwide & tries to kill people in the truck series. Calling harvick a bully is ridiculous for a fan of a driver who about ended ron hornaday's career and takes out Kahne every chance he gets.

Clint Bowyer's 2014 season is a direct result of Richmond karma. You need to relearn what karma means. The definition may have changed since the war of 1812.

Could have been a loose wheel, wheel weight off just about anything. Getting all excited about a third place finish? at least act like you have been there before. Kyle said himself it was probably a 5th or 6th place car..but you are supposed to understand that because of his brilliance, he finished third.o_O

Look back on some earlier posts, I mentioned it was probably a 10 th place car. If you quote my posts like everyone else I will know who you are talking to.

I paid attention to what the driver said..sorry I forgot your an expert on everything Kyle.

Maybe you should go back and look who Hornaday was driving for back then, the whole bunch of them pushed Kyle way to hard and he bit back. Ron wasnt injured. Kyle looks like he is having a fine year...... won 13 races and second in the chase

About ended Hornaday's career? You GTFO. bull****. Takes out Kahne? He doesn't care about Kahne. Bowyer's season--like all of the Toyotas--is a result of a conservative tune, and an inability to get a handle on the 0 Ride Height. Nothing more. Geez.

Oooooo the internet warrior wants me to pm him. Not until you figure out to pull up the OS calculator. :D

Kyle has 1 win this season in the series that he deserves to race in. Ice up son.

Championship hopes = dashed & hasnt been the same since. So no, Ill keep my perky little ass right here. Of course he doesnt care about kahne, he wipes him out all the time. If he cant drive around him he will drive right through him. Or is it driving "through the tight"?? Bowyer's season had been completely snake bitten. From mechanical failures to being in the wrong place @ the wrong time. It hasnt been about speed.

Well you have to keep in mind that I'm more of a consistency guy myself. I am more impressed by a team that can be a front runner all season, weekend in and weekend out, and feel like they do deserve a shot at the Championship as much as the guy who has the most wins.

IMHO, the perfect Chase battle was one between Carl Edwards and Tony Stewart. You had Mr. Consistency vs. Mr. Most Wins. It was the perfect story line! I don't know why Brian France ****** up the Chase system that had an actual battle between two method of winning a NASCAR Championship.

Hmmmmmmm Bowyer was driving a Harvick truck back then to on occasion, maybe karma bit him too :D
You can shove the "internet warrior" bull****t and yer "os calculator"too whatever it is

That doesnt mean anything, or make any sense.

So since Johnson is driving Gordon's car does that make Clint Bowyer mad at him too?

Good call.

You mentioned Bowyer, I have no idea why but at least you know why karma bit him too. Is there anything else I can help you with or can your buddy "steponit" handle your questions :XXROFL:

Man I forgot to put a disclaimer saying the following: "flaming wars not encouraged." :D

I was just feeling tick off about this lame format and reformatting of the points is all.
