I haven't purchased my tickets yet, but I have scheduled the weekend off. As long as my sons condition remains stable I will be there.

Misses Greg will be there too, so I will at least try to be dignified and possess some couth.

So What say you, if you wanna meet sunday morning prior to the race for handskakes, pleasantries and some yada yaders speak up.

Greg would love to go but can't talk future son in law to go since I had a few health issues this year don't feel like risking going alone so guess I will be watching from home

Best wishes with your health.

Thanks doing better than I was, just don't want to be that far away right now. Was thinking of going to pocono or Dover this year I want to pick one race that I will really enjoy pocono is about an hour and half away Dover about 4 but I think I would enjoy Dover more. Be able to see more than at Pocono

Damn, I planned to go but I have to skip this one. Money is tight, and Bristol and then 2 weeks at Charlotte put a big dent in the account. You going to the fall race? That one I wont miss.

You and the wife have a good time. Great track for the fans, and great racing too. First track I ever went to, and I got to see Jeff win there last fall.

+1 for the fall Chase race.

I'm actually only there for the truck race on that weekend, so sorry.

Looks like attendance may be down this year . I've spoken to several of the nurses here and they say that they won't be going if Mrs. Greg is going. Huh ? Go figure . :(

I'll be there even though I'm newer to the forum and sparse with commentary. If anyone wants to meet and greet and kickback a few cold ones just call 336-509- I'm Sky, I trust that there aren't any trolls who'll use this number irresponsibly.

I removed the number, Sky, for your privacy. Didn't want you to get unwanted calls from those who read forums to gather info.

I will ...I have no friends and my contact list is empty . I might just put you on speed dial under bff . :)

Wish I could afford the trip. Sadly I cant.

Like pistolshooter I could only afford the ones which are closest to me.
Martinsville is in my bucket list for sure though.

Martinsville and old North Wilkesboro are my two favorite cup tracks of all time. Attended more of them then I can count.

But it has been a long time, after my sons health issues I cut back quite a bit.
I just decided a few days ago that I was past due. I can understand folks waiting for the fall race, there is something special about the late season race, but I have the bug or fever to go now.

I have a good friend that lives in Winston Salem and me and the misses will stay in their guest room Saturday night, and the four of us will drive up to Martinsville Sunday morning.
We used to sit in turn one and thats were we will be again in this year.

Proud to say that I have been to both Martinsville and Bristol , missed the Rock and N.Wilkesboro , big one on my bucket list is Richmond . Glad you guys are gettin out of the house. Enjoy yourselves . Don't forget the hot dogs.

If you ever go to Richmond, be sure to walk the fence at some point during the race. I've been to 8 different tracks and RIR is the only track I've been to that you can walk the fence all the way around the track.

Other tracks have access blocked at some point and you can not walk around the entire track at the fence.

It'a a must do at RIR. ;)

Hope there's no age limit on that , I'd sure like to try . Suppose I'd get lost . :(

Jeff's win was pretty cool I got to high five him after his win and stand right behind him for an interview with that bob dillner guy from FS1 best 40 dollars I ever spent.

And I got to high five Jeff the very next weekend here in Fort Worth during pre-race intros.

The coolest thing I saw about Martinsville is that Jeff won and he got up to the grandstand area and greeted everyone on the front row. I just love how close the fans are and how accessible the drivers are there. If your driver doesn't win the race try to congregate in between turn 4 and the front stretch to see all the drivers walk out of the track there's no tunnel to escape out of there. You're right there. Martinsville is the 2nd best track in motorsports.

Martinsville is the last real racetrack in NASCAR. The thing I like the most about it is how they do Victory Lane. All these other Cup tracks, Victory Lane is a separate facility built in the infield, closed off to the fans. Fans in the stands don't get to see it or take pictures or anything like that. At Martinsville, Victory Lane is on the frontstretch, just like your average Saturday Night Short Track. The fans get to watch the celebration and so on.

I was literally standing right beside the ESPN camera guy when they interviewed him. I was drenched in Gatorade.

I have a change of plans. My wife has never been to a cup race. So we are going to the all star race at Charlotte instead for her first cup race. For my party of four, Martinsville meant the most only to me. My racing pal and his wife prefer Charlotte..

Missed that by 1. ;)
Well as some of you know number one in my heart is Bowman Gray Stadium; a little more action and a lot and less Millionaires but Martinsville is like
.006 of a second from #1

Huh? Think you need to reconsider friends....and a wife. :)

I'd rather take a baseball bat to the ribs than go to Charlotte.

I highly prefer Martinsville, but I do think the all star race is better for a new fan.
If she doesn't like the racing there will be more other stuff.
