Somebody Should Start A Jade Avedisian Thread

Toyota GR Cup…Toyota’s one-make road racing series that debuted this year with the Toyota GR86 Cup model. 14 races across 7 rounds at Sonoma, Sebring, COTA, VIR, Road America, Barber, and IMS.

Road course racing is a valuable experience/skill to have in NASCAR these days.

As long as she keeps cooking in midgets this year she could probably get Truck opportunities once she turns 18.
She turns 18 the beginning of next season and it doesn't matter in ARCA anyway. Buried in some non descript single brand no nothing series is all about the yoters. They screw up more driver's careers than they help. She should be in ARCA at least, road racing can be taught by driving schools, That is how the majority of Nascar young guns learn.

Why bother with ARCA? So she can race with fields of 15 cars (5 of which are borderline start and park entries) at Toledo? That series is dead. Besides, look at the actual entry lists for the series:

You have young oval drivers like Ruggiero and Breidinger, experienced hands like Mark Pombo, and a field of cars >20 at tracks that actually resemble or are/were on the Cup schedule. I looked through and saw Corey Heim, Brent Crews, Jesse Love, and William Sawalich all made starts in it last year.

“Toyota thinks a lot of the raw potential, extending their partnership over multiple years to come, starting with a campaign in 2024 that will include a part-time Midget schedule in addition to full-time in the Toyota GR86 Cup — the latter being her first foray into pavement and road racing.”

“In addition to having access to the Toyota Performance Center and its team of nutritionists and physical fitness specialists, plus the TRD simulator, the agreement also allows for Avedisian and Toyota to start mapping out a future together.

Assuming next season goes well and she acclimates to pavement, Avedisian says they have already started talking about a pathway to pavement Late Models and then the NASCAR pipeline but she also isn’t putting too much thought into any of that right now.

“We’ve talked about all that stuff but really, I’m just focused on doing the best I can with what is right in front of me,” she said. “Like, I know what I’m doing next year and I am just really focused on that.”

So let’s put her in an all toyota road racing series. :cuckoo:
If you read it, they’re already discussing Late Models and entry level NASCAR for 2025. But they’re not gonna put the cart before the horse, keep performing on dirt and dip your toes into the water of road racing with a low risk, low commitment (seven weekends) championship. Next year could probably see some Trans-Am for more powerful road racing, CARS, and hop into ARCA since Toyota still sees value there. She’s got plenty of time.
