Sorry but I have too. Keith Olbermann

Shamelessly bumping my own post...there's at least one other person out there who agrees with me.

Just saw that tweet, agreed. If there is a Dale Jr. commentator bump to be exploited, I believe that would be relatively short lived. He is a very likable and popular personality, but I don't think this is going to become Dale Jr. NASCAR 2018 like some kind of Madden NFL situation.

FWIW, audiences have not responded well to the star power of Alex Rodriguez in the Sunday Night Baseball booth, and ratings have been unimpressive.

Olbermann knows that he's nothing compared to Dale Jr. He's clutching at straws!

That depends on how good a broadcaster Jr. turns out to be. Plenty of people used to watch MNF just to hear Cosell and Merideth snipe at each other. I'd watch Lithuanian log-rolling quarter-finals if Allen Bestwick or Bob Costas were calling the play-by-play.

Well, I accidentally stumbled into a Professional Bull Riding broadcast two years ago. Despite having no prior interest in rodeo-type stuff, I was drawn in by the sheer quality of the commentary, watched the remaining hour of that show, set my DVR for the following week, and wound up becoming a fan of the sport. Of course, Craig Hummer is 180 degrees opposite of Rick Allen, but Justin McBride and Dale Jr. could be sorta comparable.

Despite this example, I think your prediction is likely correct.
