‘Spring Thaw’ to kick off 2005 racing season at Volunteer Speedway
BULLS GAP, Tenn. – The 2005 season-opener at Volunteer Speedway is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 1-2. The “Spring Thaw” weekend will see on Friday night the Super Late Models running a 40-lap feature paying $3,000-to-win, along with Crate Engine Late Model, Mini Stock 4-Cylinder and Front Wheel Drive features.
Saturday night will see the Super Late Models battle it out in a 75-lap feature which will pay $10,000-to-win, along with heat races and last chance consolations. Also racing will be the UMP (Open-Wheel) Modified and Hobby Stock classes.
Friday adult grandstand admission is $15, with pit passes and backside tier-parking $25.
Saturday adult grandstand admission is $20, with pit passes and backside tier-parking $35. There will be a $100 Super Late Model entry fee for Saturday's $10,000-to-win event.
The pit gate will open each day at 3 p.m., with the grandstands opening daily at 5 p.m. Hotlaps will begin each evening at 6:15 p.m., followed by qualifying and then feature racing action.
