Sprint Fan Vote

She still has to finish on the lead lap I think. There's a chance the runner-up gets in.

Looking at the options I don't see anyone who deserves to be in the race. I like Danica but she hasn't accomplished much yet, Bobby hasn't won a race in a decade.

I am voting for segments with a maximum of 8 laps and inverted starts, that way Danica can stay on the pole and lead lap, without worrying about the bangy types.

How about just putting every drivers name in a hat that didn't make the race, and draw on the front stretch one name and they get in the show.

I voted for my second faorite driver. David Gilliland! Haha just kidding, Aric all the way!

Though as was said in the OP, my vote doesnt really matter :/

Remember when they changed that rule the year Junyer was in the Open?
Nice try but not quite. 2007 was the first time when the top two advanced from the Open along with the Fan Vote winner. Dale Earnhardt Jr was already in the main event after having won @ Richmond in 2006. I know because I was there. I got into an argument with the gate guy over the size of my cooler. Needless to say I won and a good time was had by all.

Please don't try to rewrite history. ;) Many people take erroneous statements like that as fact.

DPK then wouldn't let you bring a uhaul in and call it a cooler dident it have the BL decal?
I didn't try the UHaul but that probably would have been great to crash the gate although the pending litigation would have not been good.

They apparently had a problem that my cooler may have been slightly on the large side and sported wheels. They told me that it could be used as a weapon. To be honest I had never thought of using a cooler full of beer as a weapon but that guy had me thinking. Also, to be honest, this was after a long, hard day of drinking the the RIR parking lot leading up to a night race. The guy was only doing his job but you really shouldn't tell an inebriated fan dragging his cooler into the track that he's not welcome. ;)

In my job I had to deal with a lot of people Not feeling so well some can be funny others just a pain in the well you fill in the blank but learned best way to get along with them sometimes is to bend a little. A cooler as a weapon? Damn that's a new one on me lol

2011?

Change in All-Star fan vote: A tweak announced Wednesday for the Sprint All-Star race will allow the winner of the Sprint Fan Vote from the Sprint Showdown to advance into the main event without being on the lead lap as long as the car is in "raceable" condition as determined by Sprint Cup Series director John Darby.(ESPN)(5-16-2013)

Let the Danica based black helicopters start flying.

I was at the 2010 Coke 600, me and some friends had a bunch of Jeremiah weed in two liter Sundrop bottles and a whole lot of beer. It was a hot day, we got there at 9:00 am, immediately started drinking, moved onto liquor by 3.. It was about racetime and I stumbled to the gate, I had a large cooler. I should have known better but I digress, I was greeted by one security guard, then two, three, and four. They won the arguement and amazingly let me through.. Thank God because the race ended up being the most fun I've ever had at a racetrack. Capped off by the 48 wadding it up right in front of me. :D

Looks like I better register 10 more Danica votes . what do you think Andy?

I got an idea , lets try to keep Nascar's most popular driver , arguably one of it's biggest stars out of a big publicty event designed to attract new fans to Nascar . Hmmm.

is she really that important? I can't see it. are fans that blind.
