The entire 2007-2014 TV deal is worth a total of $4.48 billion, which I assume he is talking about. The FOX portion of the new TV deal from 2015-2022 is worth $2.4 billion (was $1.76 billion) and that was agreed upon back in October when Danica had only seven Cup starts.

I'd personally laugh if Danica didn't win the fan vote for some reason. I wonder what NASCAR would do then.
To be honest, they'd probably claim that the driver who won it failed the Sprint Open post race inspection.

It's a well known fact that the single factor in all this was FOX's cable channel, FOX Sports 1. It has nothing to do with Danica. No matter what anyone thinks, FOX knows what they're doing. FS1 is going to destroy ESPN and ESPN has no clue their empire's about to collapse. Look at what FOX News Channel did to CNN.

the black helicopter is flying again. The reason Nascar haven't signed any other deals with other networks, is because their contracts are not up yet. Fox1 negotiated their deal befor their contract was finished. It is anticipated that because of Fox 1 paying what they did, and NBC is interested, the remaining deals with the other networks will be higher also. Andy has blinders on when it comes to Danica's worth as a TV draw. He also has a problem with views that are different than his own. But anyway here is one of the stories. The deal is the first jump higher for broadcast rights in ten years for Fox. So despite Andys' "the sky is falling" mentality, the product, and Fox destroying Nascar, is a bunch of whoey.

I agree. FS1 already has a lot of quality programming from several major sports lined up.
