I don't really get why this is necessary. I guess they feel that it will be much more enjoyable for the fans if they feel that they actually have a say in how this race is to be run.
 
I don't care about the segment links but I don't like the idea of eliminating some cars. I think it will just cause wrecks.
 
The only good that I can see coming from the elimination idea is possibly the sandbagging that goes on by teams like the #48 and others. I hate to see the cars that try to run the rear of the field. I understand the strategy behind it but it's not always a move that pays off either. I'd rather see my driver try to run out front. If he get's caught up in a wreck, so be it. It's the nature of the beast at these restrictor plate tracks or anywhere else for that matter.

Yep. It seems Hammond pointed out that problem live on stage, and nobody had an answer what would happen if eliminating 6 cars left too few for a race. It seems the wording 'last 6 FINISHERS' needs a little tweeking.

I don't like any of it. I don't like segments, I don't like mandating pit stops, and I don't like eliminating drivers. That's not racing, that's gimmicks. When I want that I go to a local short track. Might as well put them in school buses and run in reverse.

It's a gimmick race full of gimmicks that I wouldn't watch at all if it weren't the first event of the season. What I'll be watching is the new car in the draft.
 
This race has never been anything more than a gimmick. Is this something that you all have just come to realize or have you all been whining and complaining about it forever? It's an exhibition race people. Sit back and enjoy it and take it for what its worth. It's the first race of the season and I know I can't wait to see it. I know I'll be sitting back, drinking several Bud's and enjoying the show. :D

Man, are you touchy these days? Relax, the racing begins in a few short weeks with the Sprint Unlimited or in your case, the Budweiser Duel races. If you needed someone to root for in the Duel, my pole wining driver Dale Earnhardt could always use another fan. :p

France is probably breaking out in hives worrying about the cup champ not being in that race. I bet Keselowski will be part of the broadcast team.

Yeah he probably thought about that "Big Earthshattering Problem" for about 12 seconds like the rest of us, that is all of us but Fender.
