Forget going with the gold, silver is the ticket. No superstitious lot these WC drivers.
MARLIN BACK IN SILVER
Sterling Marlin finished third in the Pepsi 400 driving a No. 40 Dodge with its standard silver paint job. Marlin said the gold paint scheme used by his sponsor has been put on the shelf for the rest of the season.
"Everybody is due a couple of bad races a year, but we came back here and led and had a really good car," said Marlin, who finished last in the race before Daytona.
"We had good pit stops. I'm proud of everybody on the team. We got rid of our gold car. Everybody thought it was bad luck."
