Supposedly the deal is done, earlier Friday, a source close to the situation said that Chevrolet has agreed to terms with Joe Gibbs Racing to buy Tony Stewart out of his contract with the #20-Toyota Sprint Cup racing team. Stewart will indeed be making the move to Haas CNC Racing, a rumor that has been circulating for months. Supposedly Stewart’s new sponsor will be Office Depot and terms have been finalized regarding the impending sponsorship. In addition, Stewart will be joined by current #12 Penske Racing driver Ryan Newman, who would be sponsored by Burger King. No word yet on what car numbers the drivers will run and an announcement could come as early as next week at the Daytona International Speedway.

Don't know who the source is, but that sounds comical to me.

No word of Tony buying into Hass and racing as a part owner? I won't be surprised if that was part of the deal.

Tony sponsored by an office company, and Ryan by a fast food joint?

That's comical to me at least. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Perhaps, but look at who sponsers everyone else. I see your point but in this day, age and cost of full-time sponsorship, all that any owner/driver/team can hope for is is someone to step up and commit to pay the BIG $$ necessary to fund a top tier team for a year or more. It's going to be a big-time type of corporation looking for a hefty tax deduction. Any port in a storm.

If he does go to Haas, it is being part or full owner. He's not going to a 2-bit operation without something else involved for himself.

It should be Haas/CNC/Hendrick just like RYR gets all of their equipment from Roush Fenway, I could see tony being competitive and runnin for a championship if zippy comes along with him.

Is it just me or did it look like Tony has put the beef back on when he climbed out of his Old Spice car yesterday?

CGP, my hubby and I said the same thing! Tony has packed on the pounds.

There was one pic of him standing behind the tropy --- and he looked 9 months pregnant and ready to deliver at any second.
