STEWART HEADED TO CHILDRESS?

Got a clarification on Stewart's contract. It runs through 2009, not 2008. But Gibbs wants to lock him up. But this was in today's Tampa Tribune and was on Jayski's:

STEWART CONTRACT: Joe Gibbs Racing wants to sign Tony Stewart to a new contract, even though his current contract runs through 2009. But Stewart said Thursday he doesn't plan to negotiate during the offseason.
"It's flattering they already want to do this and get it done and out of the way, but I'm taking this offseason off. I need it desperately."

Yea because being a millionaire from driving a racecar for a living is just so damn stressful. Shut the hell up, Tony.

Translation: I want to talk to my buddy Kevin a little more and get his take on what racing for RCR is like among other things.

I agree with Tony. The man wants a rest from racing. Driving a racecar is a hell of a lot harder then it looks, from TV and the stands. Right now 36 point races, plus the shootout, 125's, the Winston(yeah yeah i know All Star) Also the Busch and dirt races he is in.

I race dirt, have drove on some pavement also. Dirt is a lot harder and takes more skill to drive then an paved track. Im not much of a tony fan, but give the man some time to catch up on some rest.

Wow a little harsh don't ya think. I can see where every one of the drivers want to sit back and relax during the off season. I mean come on between racing and appearances when do they really get to enjoy the millions they have worked so hard to earn... I personally don't think I could handle the stress of being a driver.

Yeah, I agree. It isn't all "cake and ice cream".
 
I understand that but come on. I would love to have the opportunity to do what they do. Maybe because I have such a ****** job I don't feel sorry for them when they complain.

Are you still working that job a RoadKill Collector? It great that you are able to work long hours braving oncoming traffic while picking up creatures of various size and breed and in various states of decay. And one of your benefits include working outdoors. Its nice that you have a strong stomach. On the bright side you are able to bring meat to the table most days... :D
