JIM MCISAAC / GETTY IMAGESLOUDON, N.H. - Joe Gibbs Racing's Tony Stewart applauded Aric Almirola's effort in last weekend's Busch Series race at the Milwaukee Mile.

Almirola qualified on the pole and led laps in the race. He was running third when the team substituted Denny Hamlin into the Joe Gibbs Racing car. Hamlin went on the win the race, but the victory is credited to Almirola as his first NASCAR win.

The situation was difficult for everyone involved, something the key players all admit.

So what kind of advice would Nextel Cup veteran Stewart give to Almirola?

"Just keep his head up," Stewart said. "He obviously did a good job. He's put that car on the pole two years there and I thought he did a really good job in the race.

"It was kind of a weird set of circumstances obviously and one that he got the worst end of, but at the same time I think something really positive will come out of it."
