I wasn't here last year, so I have no idea if people ripped Gordon or not. I don't see what the big deal is, or why anyone would even care? I could careless about who enters or doesn't. Tony has been in IROC a few seasons and doesn't seem to enjoy it all that much, so why do it?
 
No one is going to say, "well, I pounded Jeff Gordon last year for his refusal to race IROC and this year with Tony not racing, well, it's Okay"??

Gee, where did all the ABGer's go ?? Where are all the ones who thought it was a travesty of justice to have Gordon, (gasp) the 2001 Winston Cup Champion refuse the invite to race IROC ??

What was the word TNW fan used ?? Was it "hypocrite"? Well he got the right word !!!! Where are all these people? Are they all hiding ??? Last year the different forums were filled with twenty different thread titles on the same topic, all denouncing Jeff Gordon. Today, the same situation exists and where are the sanctimonious fans who beat thier chests while declaring how unprofessional his refusal was?

Guess what goes around comes around. Only this time it is different. :rolleyes:
 
It was mostly the ABG'ERS who denounced Gordon.........They find fault with everything he does. But, facts are facts and It took him to lead the way for others to be able to stand up and say NO. All that GD garbage last year cuz a racer didn't want to use his personal time to race IROC. Pathetic. For every IROC race, I read somewhere that it takes 10 hours per race of drivers personal time to participate......time that with the extended cup schedule was very tight to begin with.

Good for Toni. IMHO, these guys know that IROC is going by the wayside.........and if it wasn't back 20 years ago, it certainly has become a rinky dink series W/I the past 5 years...........why waste yer time OR risk yer life on it?

If there's nothing better on, I will find something better on. I can do better than IROC.
 
On a professional level, Larry McReynolds chastised Gordon for his IROC snub last year. I expect a similar column from him this year.
