Of course you can be a member. No problems there. Most of us don't watch racing just for the wrecks.
Personally...I used to watch the (old) Bristol for the wrecks...but on a track where they can get up to real speed I prefer fender benders (especially if they are Jimmy Johnson fender benders ).
