STP 300 - Chicagoland NNS Pre Race Thread

If for some reason a NWS regular races Logano hard in a cup race, he better not bitch about it :)

There was absolutely ZERO promotion for this race locally. You had to already know it was scheduled and be looking for it. Pretty sad, because in the past they (Chicagoland/Route 66) have done a good job of getting on local morning news and sports radio, but there was zilch for this race.
 
Still don't see how a premier athelete no matter the sport, competing in a junior league, can take pride in victory. Who wants to hear Peyton Manning brag about going back to play for Tennessee and winning a BCS? I guess it's good for the other drivers to race against strong competition but its a race for 2nd place every week. Who wants to participate in that? Much less watch it.
 
The fact that Logano didn't run over any of his teammates in the pit should give him a lot of confidence. My hats off to him for that, and for the win.

I have attended this race and the cup race many times over the years. I have a friend that works for Cat and he always handed off tickets. That went away several years ago.

In football... the equipment is yourself.. Not a car with 250 less horse power.. A race is a race just because they're cup drivers doesnt make the other guys any slower... or did u not notice that he had a slow car for most of the race?

He won a race in the minor leagues. It does nothing but support the fact that he can't run with the big dogs. This would be like me getting excited whenever Kyle wins a NW race. Is it nice? Yep, but I don't come online and try to talk s**t about it. Lol C'mon man.

I'm happy you got to experience the joys of a victory though. :)

But it's Joey Logano, the best there was, the best there is, and the best there will be. He was just gracing us NASCAR fans on an off-week by displaying his prowess as the most amazing racing automobile driver in the history of the world by winning a minor league race.

Yup, restarts saved it from a 0. Good little battles but up front.. my god, I hate clean air. Thing I used to love about racing and this was highlighted by NH last week.. A driver chasing down the leader, passing him for the win. Aero freaking sucks now.
