If anybody has seen the new IndyCar on Fox commercials, they are branding it as "The fastest motorsports". And Bob Tasca took that issue up during his first round interview this morning.

Considering FOX was sued for almost a billion dollars for lying and lost and had to pay, I had no problem before Taska said what he said. I wondered how many classes going down in speed at drag racing are still faster then Indycar myself.

NHRA should be grateful to Fox I'm sure that NFL NASCAR and now Indycar get much higher ratings I can't knock FOX for promoting other shows

So I did some reading up. It turns out this was premeditated. At the Warm-Up race in Bradenton, alot of people were wearing black shirts with #NHRASpeedCheck on them, and the NHRA and several teams were using it on social media since that weekend. It makes me wonder if FOX did this as an intentional publicity stunt.

I saw Tasca go off on Fox Sunday after his run and enjoyed it. I'm a fan of Indycar and drag racing so just enjoyed it as some entertainment.

This is the part that should piss NASCAR and NHRA off. FOX cares about IndyCar. They don't give two ****s about the other motorsports properties they have.

Personally, I wish NHRA was on ESPN2 again. With ESPN+ being a thing, you can throw live coverage there too.

This stuff kills me - they're paying probably 5-10x for NASCAR what they do Indycar and just because someone has actually bothered to promote Indycar that is distributing them unlike how ESPN or even NBC handled it, everyone is now on the "Fox doesn't care about NASCAR" wagon.

It's not that they're promoting IndyCar, it's how much they're promoting IndyCar vs. NASCAR, and how the majority of races are on FS1.

BFD. NASCAR can be on FS1 and they still have more manufacturers, more big name sponsors, more everything. Fox is promoting Indycar because they perceive it as a cheap growth property and they have the entire season. The notion that Fox cares more about Indycar when the entire Indycar deal is probably worth about 2 Cup races from Fox is just uproarious and delusional to me.

But they do care more about other properties than NASCAR. FOX has said NASCAR's important to them because of the ratings and content between NFL and MLB season.

NASCAR is bottom of the totem pole.

Okay, so, yeah, is it news to anyone that NASCAR wouldn't be at the same level as the NFL? I am assuming you are not suggesting that a couple of decent advertisements being run during the Super Bowl makes Indycar an NFL level property; am I right?

1) Eric Shanks is a native Hoosier and his first internship was at IMS.

2) There’s a 99% chance they’re referring to closed circuit racing but realize it doesn’t make for a catchy tagline.

Sometimes things are just that simple.

Fwiw - IndyCar would take NASCAR’s TV deal in a heartbeat. NASCAR would not take IndyCar’s.

Pretty hard to believe that Fox has had Nascar for years, but somehow advertising a new venture/investment with a new crew for Indycar means Nascar is at the bottom of the pile. It's a good trolling effort I suppose, but I don't think many are buying it lol.

I think it is great for Indycar to have a stable network for fans to view their races. But on the other hand, the demand was so great for Nascar Cup broadcasting, there was a bidding war for the product,

IndyCar is a new product for Fox. It makes sense to hype it, the same way McD's promotes a new burger. The difference is, McD's doesn't overlook marketing their long-standing products.

I'm not commenting on the highly questionable 'fastest' claim.

So you are saying Fox isn't hyping Nascar? What world are you living in?

Yeah, Ill back off that one. I remember I don't watch Fox outside of racing so I don't see what they're doing. I just see far more (better?) Indy promo than Cup, and minimal Truck ads.

I mean, doesn't it make sense that Fox would be promoting Indycar during NASCAR broadcasts and thus you'd see the advertisements?

Considering Fox doesn't disclose the money they spend on advertising, it's fair game on the R-F forum. Waal I didn't see no advertising the medialites exclaim.

Yeah, but the contrary is true too, that Fox would be promoting NASCAR in IndyCar races. I'll pay attention during Thermal next week and see.

Bob Tasca Ford goes way back to the roots.

I saw Fox run a graphic and promo in-race for NHRA on FS1 followed by INDYCAR on FOX. With no mention of NASCAR on the Fox upcoming races promo.

Fox doesn’t care. People will tune in because they know when it is from going to nascar.com and that’s fine with them.

I saw them promoting the Vegas Cup race during the Big East Tournament last week, fwiw.

It's lunacy to think that Fox doesn't care about Nascar or any other contracts they have. The lost 4 races a year with the latest contract and over 7 years that is 28 races. Starting Indycar was a good move to fill the void. The ratings for Indycar are good.
Some people are so biased they can't tell the forrest for the trees.

I just ran a cross this video of Courtny Enders hanging out with Tasca and giving a tour of his dealership.

Great video, gave me a different perspective of Tasca III. I really enjoy successful business men that love there venture.

Having said that, he is still more often than not an arrogant ass hole at the race track.

He is not afraid to voice his opinion but he is actually a pretty nice guy. His team and our team stayed at the same hotels a lot and we ate at the same restaurants a lot of the time also and I would park our hauler at their race shop and hangout there when it was in NC. But I interacted with Bobs father a lot more than I did Bob and he is a very nice guy. They take racing very seriously and have invested a lot of money in NHRA drag racing.
