I looked and didn't see a recent thread on tattoos. I haven't really seen anyone mention having any. Thought it might be a cool thread. I only have one. Got it about six months ago. I got the dream catcher design because I have always been fascinated by Native American artifacts and have a small mount of Cherokee blood in my. The feathers are colored in the colors of my kids birthstones.

I'm thinking about my next big one and have an idea but not quite ready to do it. My Dad and I may get small matching tattoos next week while we're at the beach on vacation.

I don't have any, but have had thoughts of one. It be for my dad who passed last September. It be the john deere logo but with the deer going the other direction jumping from his birthyear to his death.

I see the tats on men of my fathers generation that they got after WWII and Korea. Ugly blue/black splotches.
I'll go out on a limb and say the technique and inks used today are better, at least I hope so.
I really don't understand why young women cover themselves with tats.

I have 3. I love 1 of them, the other two suck.
Could be worse my sister in law got a huge piece on her chest that was the title of her wedding song. That marriage lasted a year. Shes since covered it up but it took a ton of work.

I've never had one either, but do like them and will probably get one eventually. I have sensitive skin though so I dont know if I could handle the needle.

I'm generally indifferent to tattoos. I don't have or want one, but I don't have a problem with them at all.

On the other hand being diabetic I get poked with enough needles a day

Throughout my life, I've occasionally thought about getting one, but never found anything I really wanted.

Same here...I almost got one once...a Navy Anchor...but then I backed off.

Funny thing - my Daughter has two. Some small thingy on here shoulder and something on her lower leg. Neither of them are show-off-ish so I figured she just got them to fit in.

A few years back she was working as a Math teacher in a local Christian School - it was her first job out of college and she is very good at math - like me :)

For some reason she had to take off her over-shirt-blouse amongst the older female teachers and they saw her tattoo. The gossip spread like wildfire. She called me to complain about it and I made a mistake and told her the truth "Many folks think that taking a tattoo onto your skin is an insult to God...it means that you are trying to improve upon what God has given you...therefore you are being disrespectful to God...and you are a sinner."

She didn't appreciate that and even though I was just explaining what other people think (not me) - we didn't talk for a while ;)

This girl I have been dating since January has a ton of ink

You can only see the ones on her thighs in this picture but it is a very cool thing. She has a ship's wheel on her right thigh and the words "be there to guide me" and an anchor on the other that says "but never hold me down" it is for her mom

I have 8 tattoos myself and I am planning on getting another one that has a scroll and the following passage from the Declaration of Independence...

We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal

Yeah, my girl has a tattoo across her breast that is a matching one with her sister, it just reads "close to my heart"

Because our bodies belong to us and we can do as we please with them. Tattoos are a form of art and art is a form of self expression.

The second one is a heart on my sleeve to remind me that it is important to feel $hit

And a triquetra and an icthys that was my first one and it is horribly faded as I didnt take proper care and it scabbed and the ink pulled out with it. I learned a lot from that experience

The small cross that you can barely see above the praying hands is a matching set with my son. He designed it.
