Terrible parent?

I was good till the kid took over. If there'd been a pothole or bump or anything, woulda been bad.

Long straightaway, no traffic, too low a gear to "whiskey throttle".. I'd say no...
I'm sure Dad was totally focused and ready to step in if need be.

My dad was doing stuff like this with me on dirt bikes and driving boats at age.

That said, magnethead is right... The open road can be sketchy.... I have to assume the father new the terrain well.

At that speed it'd take a pretty serious pothole to upset the bike. Dad was prolly familiar with the road or at least looking at the road surface ahead. Looks like dad had a GoPro as opposed to holding a video cam.
Cool dad.

My first learn to drive experience:I was behind the wheel of a 1960 GMC stepside....box for a seat...gastank behind my seat...holes in floorboards....my uncle beside me ready to take over. Alan Jacksons "Daddy let me drive" comes to mind

Guess todays kids wont have that experience...

I'd say stay out of the families business. That kid will remember that ride the rest of his life.
