Thank you Danica

I have a Polaroid in the office of me at Darlington, sitting in a #35 Tabasco show car (please note the proper spelling!), combining two of my favorite interests - auto racing and hot sauce. The photo sits on the same shelf with the appx. 120 different empty bottles.

Yet another benefit from being a member here. I learned how to spell "Tabasco". What a maroon, as Bugs Bunny would say. I honestly never noticed it. I'm reel smartly that way

Tabasco. Learn to spell it, learn to use it, learn to love it.

We tried today, we tried so hard to get Danica back into the race discussion thread. But everytime it mysteriously disappeared. Someone said she was irrelevant. Gosh, it was soooooo devastating. :(

Deegan is the new Danica.

Just watched the Irwindalen (rebroadcast) ARCA race -- amazing door-to-door ending with Winner Huddleston getting bumped after the Checkered Flag and goes sliding into the wall. But while the battle raged on in front, the announcers were talking about Deegan making a pass for 4th place and how great she was, only to get passed by the same car because she used up her junk. Just awful...

first it was a k+n west race, she is the real thing, has two k+n wins and is only 17.will race in 5 arca races later this year.she spun out and came from the back.funny thing happen at the race.after the crash huddleston walked to victory lane.then they towed to car there.they told him to get back in the car and had us cheer when he got out.they said it was for tv. toyota loves her and she will be the first female to win a nascar race.

when harvick gives you a shout out you know you are the real deal.

I vividly recall going up to Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in the late nineties to see "the next Jeff Gordon" race. His name was Casey Atwood. He was a bonafide "can't miss" prospect. He had it all. I remember all the bold predictions from the locals. Where is he now? At 17, Deegan is far too young for anyone to know where she'll be in two years, much less ten. At each rung of the latter, it gets tougher to climb. I've seen average drivers win track titles with way above average budgets, and I've seen great drivers win track titles with way less. If Toyota is throwing money her way in the K&N series, that helps her a lot. Put her in an average funded team and see what she can do, That's where the rubber meets the road. Only time will tell.

I don't think Hailie Deegan is talented enough to be a star driver in the Cup Series. She looks talented enough to be better than Danica though, however.

Calm down, only about 4 or 5 cars even capable of winning on a given week in the west series. Deegan is driving for the best team. Deja vu, Danica

While I agree with that to an extent (just look at Todd Gilliland), she's running laps around Brittany Zamora who's in a BMR car.

Same old "oversell" -- just like Danica. I don't know of anyone personally who was anti-Danica (more skeptical because of the open-wheeler thing) when she first came to NASCAR, but I do know that many got tired of the saturation -- just plain bad race coverage. I believe a lot of that was seasoned fans already had their favorite driver.

But I got lucky when I went flipping thru the channels last night and realized that I was receiving NBCSN (not listed on my Satellite TV package) and it was showing the race. First time for me to see Deegan and I was getting tired of Street Outlaws :D for my Monday night racing fix.

Race was fun to watch and the ending was what I expect at the front. But with laps winding down and they're focused on the race for 4th when the war is raging up front -- that's a no bueno. IMHO

Too many unknowns of how good of equipment she'll end up in Cup or Xfinity, but the hype machine has been set in motion. She's a strong bet to end up better than Danica, she at least loves to race and is specialized in stock cars. I could see her and Decker in Cup years from now. NASCAR loves to rep as many demographics as they can.
